[AN/ Omg thank you so much for 150 views! It means a lot to have gotten this far, I honestly didn't think I'd get 50 views let alone 150. I hope we can keep them up and going. :)

After 2 hours of sitting in this room, with no new gun shots thankfully. Every now and then I felt the boy sitting next to me squeeze my hand here and there, never taking his hand off mine. It was comforting to know he was there the whole time, by my side. I couldn't get used to this though, it'd be gone soon.

The sobs of people around us were completely gone, and the silence was sending us all on edge.

Addison still had her head layed on my shoulder, and after some time I layed my head on top of hers. I was around 5'5" and she was probably 5'2" so my head sat on top of hers perfectly.

A new noise broke the silence, that wasn't a gun shot this time. Some kids jumped but soon recollected themselves. Our principals voice went through the speakers, "We have collected the student that brought the weapon into the school. He has been taken to the authorities. We're sending out a text to all of your parents, and will send an announcement on the remind app. You are permitted to leave the school in 10 minutes. School will be out for the next week, in the mean time please stay safe. We will be taking extra precautions when students come back in a week with locker, book bag, and binder checks regularly for some time." He finished off and cancelled the speaker.

I wonder if my mom or Zach would come pick me up. Sure they cared about me just a little, right?

I'm sure if they knew what had just happened, they'd come to get me. Right?

They won't come get you, they don't care enough.

They wanted you to get shot.

They want you dead.

I rose from the spot I was sitting causing Addison to jump and the mystery boy, whom I still don't knows name. They both looked at me questioningly as to why I was getting up already.

"My parents are worried sick. My phone has a billion notifications from them, asking if I was okay." I smiled weakly at them, and shrugged.

My inner self was wheezing. Them caring about me. I think my messed up family couldn't care about anyone anymore.

"I never got your name." Mystery boy stated simply. I either had a choice to be cocky or just give him my name.

"Well my stripper name is Lucy Rose." I smirked.

I chose the cocky response.

This is probably why people think I'm a slut or weirdo, I can't keep my idiotic remarks to myself.

He let out a small laugh, and shook his head slowly. "I'm Cory." He smiled, a true genuine smile. You could see his pearly white teeth, that I swear just sparkled. He had a small dimple on the left cheek, I wanted to squeeze his cheeks like a grandma cause the lil dimple was kinda cute. "I'll walk out with you, my mom says she was on her way to pick me up." He continued. I gave him a small nod, and we both went to grab our stuff from our desk, and walked out.

He said he had to go to his locker to get his books out, and he didn't want to leave them here. "I don't need mine, didn't really plan on doing my homework anyways." I said examining my nails.

"Oh, so your that type of person." He questioned, and took a book out. I furrowed my eyebrows and looked up at him. "What the hell does that mean?" I asked coldly.

He raised his hands up in surrender. "Wow chill, I didn't mean anything by it. Just thinking about that quote 'too cool for school'. Reminds me of you." He smirked and zipped up his book bag. I rolled my eyes playfully, he must be new. I'm nowhere near popular, and all the popular girls in my grade literally despise me. They've had a problem with me the second I stepped foot into high school.

"Am I right?" He raised his eyebrows, and put his book bag over his shoulder and started walking to the exit. I followed beside him and nudged his shoulder lightly. "No, your completely wrong." I stated, wide eyes looking at the ground. Just the thought of being 'popular' or 'cool' amused and scared me.

He chuckled lightly, and opened the doors. The second you stepped out you could feel the cool Autumn breeze, making my baby hairs that escaped my ponytail flowing like crazy. I grumbled swear words under my breath, and tried to control them, but they had a mind of their own.

He smiled and shook his head, while I still struggled with my annoying hair, trying to slick it back down.

Damn you wavy hair.

I punched the brick wall beside me and groaned. Oh my god, why do I always get frustrated so easily? Now he probably thinks I have anger issues.

You probably do

Shut up.

I turned back around to be met with his eyes filled with concern. "Huh?" I asked, creeped out he was just staring at me.

He narrowed his eyes at me trying to figure me out. That's funny mister, the walls I have built up were there for a reason.

Stop making jokes about your depressing life.

"Would you rather have me punch you, or the wall?" I question and raise my eyebrows and tilt my head.

He sighs and looks away, probably looking for his mom, until he stops the search and gives a sad smile to a women in the parking lot. I assumed that women was his mother. She looked frantic until her sons eyes met her own, and immediately softened.

"Where are your parents at?" He looked back in my direction and tilted his head. I turned my head to him and gave him a sad smile. "We live a little far out of town.. it takes them longer to pick me up." I gave him a convincing smile. He just nodded, satisfied with my response. It was quiet for a moment, until he finally spoke up again.

"You still never gave me your name, ya know?" He said, slowly walking over to his mom.

I let out a little huff from my nose and gave him a small smile. "I'll end the suspense I guess." I paused, basking in his happy face a second longer. "It's Quinn." Finally giving him an answer.

He smiled. "Worth the suspense." He winked and walked away, I rolled my eyes.

I looked around and saw teenagers running out, into their parents arms. Each embraced in hugs and relieved cries. I kicked a pebble underneath my feet, knowing I would never get that.
