I'm so sorry for the delay.  I  have no excuse. So much happened these past few years and I was down so bad I could only do so much to cope with life.

I really hope there are people still interested in this story. I can only hope. Again I am so sorry my doves. I love you all and appreciate you all so much. Please enjoy

Sitting in the plush chair facing the greying man on the other side of the desk, Charlotte was still trying to wrap her head around how they got here.

One second she was on the bathroom floor bawling her eyes out and pouring her soul to Jessika, while the older woman calmly listened and comforted her. Next thing she knew she was being hauled across the halls. And into one of the seats opposite their department's manager.

Still a little dizzy from the fast pace so didn't catch the first few words they exchanged. But if she wanted to go by what Jessika said before shoving her into the room and the stern look on the man's face, she knew she wouldn't like this one bit.

"Ms. Bolton," came the quiet croak. She remains silent.

She threw a betrayed look at the other woman, who met her eyes head with something akin to hope or encouragement Charlotte couldn't tell. But she knew that was not a look she wanted to see on her face right now.

"Ms. Bolton," he called again, commanding her attention. She looked back to Mr. Turner, taking shallow breaths and trying hard not to show the anger/fear raving her insides. She knew her eyes were still bloodshot and swollen from all the crying but she really couldn't care about that right now.

"Yes."

The man looked kind and was in fact so. But he was almost impossibly stern and stiff when it came to the rules. So yeah, this was a mess. Her eyes strayed to the other woman again in time to see a smile tug at her lips, that look still in her eyes. Charlotte glared, fists clenched on her lap 'Bitch!'.

Jessyka blinked at the venomous look, a small inkling as to why it was directed at her. *Sigh*

"I'm waiting."

For a second she didn't know what to do or say meeting those deep-set eyes of the older man's. Who cares anymore. Might as well just trash the whole thing now... throwing caution to the wind, Charlotte sloshed a little more in her seat.

"Why bother?" she started quietly.

"Excuse me?"

"You know everything, so why do you want me to put on this show when you have probably already made your decision? I really don't feel like being anyone's clown right now."

"Charlotte!" Jessyka ground out warningly. "Sir she is in a hard place right now-" but stopped when Mr. Turner held a hand up.

"And what exactly is that decision Ms. Bolton?"

Charlotte was getting tired of this game, she took a deep breath squared her shoulders, and stood up. Even though she was leaving, it didn't have to be on bad terms. She didn't have to burn any more bridges "I will have my resignation letter on your table by midday."

"Resignation huh? I see." The older man gave her an unreadable look. "Sit down, Ms. Bolton." The command was stern and Charlotte obeyed though hesitant. "First rule in business; Until the other party voices it out, even if you had a 1000% certainty that you are right, your assumptions are null and void until the deal is done. People love feeling in power. If you are going to take their money at least have the decency to let them feed into the delusion, will you? You play arrogant only when you have absolute power. Do you have absolute power here Ms. Bolton?"
