Henry didn't know what to expect when he woke up the next day.

Police sirens at the door of the shop? Ray in Captain Man suit ready to arrest him? The others avoiding him. His phone ringing off the hook? Many things had gone through his mind. And he had prepared himself for the worse.

But this had thrown him completely off.

The normalcy of the day was disturbing. Well as normal as it was when you saw the pure bitterness in your friend's eyes each time he looked your way.

Ray put on the cool façade and treated him no differently. Well to the others. But Henry saw the way his muscles tense each time he passed him by. The way his jaw clenched and released each time Henry so much as made a sound.

And it put him on edge. He didn't know how to deal with this and had avoided the older man as much as possible by spending the rest of his day at the garage. Or anywhere that wasn't Junk and Stuff.

Henry woke up every morning with this lump in his throat. Expecting something to happen. Something to happen and finally end his misery.

----------------------------------

Ray walked into his home late again that night. He still couldn't digest what he had just learnt. He had taken to the habit of late night walk/runs to clear his mind or at least exhaust the anger and frustration before he looses it. It was either he did this, talked to someone or beat his protégé black and blue. Option 2 & 3 were obviously out of question. He couldn't let things get out of hand no matter how outraged he felt. You get the image now.

He walked out of the shower and into the room to see his beautiful fiancée in their bed. Only this time she wasn't sleeping. Darla was lying in bed, completely tucked under the warm duvet. But the reflection from the bedside lamp showed dark green eyes following his every movement.

"Sorry. Did I wake you?"

She said nothing for a while. Just watching him. That look unnerved Ray so he looked away and proceeded to dry his hair.

"I wasn't sleeping." She finally replied.

"...oh." Was all Ray could say. Hearing the sheets rustle as she sat up he met her eyes through the dresser mirror "What's wrong? Bad day?"

"That should be my question to you. How long will you keep sneaking into your own home and bed like some thief stealing a moment? If I didn't know better I would think you were cheating on me."

The fact that he didn't come back with some sort of joke told Darla something was really wrong. When he sat she moved closer and reached out to give his tense shoulders a gentle rub down. She felt him stiffen a little under her touch but said nothing. When she felt him relax a enough she tilted his face towards her and gave him a lingering kiss. It was relatively short none of them trying to pursue more.

She made him look into her eyes and they were silent for a while. Darla's lips pulled into a soft smile and gently guided him under covers before joining him. They lay down facing each other as she gently carded her fingers through his hair.

"Aren't you going to ask me what happened?" Ray asked after a few beats of silence.

"No." Darla smiled. "I trust you. And I trust that if I need to know you would tell me. Whatever it maybe, if you can't or don't want to tell me then you must have a good reason. Sometimes there are things we just need or want to deal with our selves. That much I understand.
