Hannah's POV

Grace and I stumbled out the door and walked about halfway to my apartment when something hit me in the side of my head.

"Chester!" A voice erupted from somewhere across the street.

"Fuck!" I brought my hand to the place of impact and snapped my eyes shut. Grace put her hand on my shoulder and coaxed my hand away from my head.

"Damn it." I felt her poke a bit at my temple. I winced. "You okay?"

"Whatever." I shook my head and looked around the other side of the road. Grace followed suit and we searched that way for about half a minute until a familiar head of auburn hair appeared from behind a corner.

I tapped Grace's arm and gestured towards where Mamrie had been moments ago. When she saw Mamrie, a sad look passed over her face for a fleeting moment before she just shook her head.

"Immature idiots." I offered Grace my hand with a loving look in my eye. She took it and we started up the road to where we'd seen Mamrie. I stumbled a bit when we got to the curb, but Grace quickly caught me. We heard a hushed Run as we approached the corner.

"Mamrie." Grace's voice threatened to shake on the last syllable. Mamrie turned around abruptly and for a moment looked no less than panicked. That quickly changed to an uneasy grin when she saw the stern look on Grace's face.

"Uh, hi." Mamrie's breathing quickened noticeably and she seemed pretty bent on not looking at me, eyes fixed on Grace instead.

"Chester!" I yelled at the man running about twenty feet behind Mamrie. Did he actually think we wouldn't see him? This guys an idiot, what the hell did Grace see in him.

"Can I fucking help you?" He slowed to a stop, not even turning around as he spoke. After a beat, he slowly turned to us and shot me the harshest glare I'd ever received.

For a brief eternity, we stayed that way. Mamrie staring in fear at Grace, Chester in fury at me. Grace and I seemed to simultaneously realize we had nothing to say to them, exchanging a quick glance of slight panic and hoping to god they didn't notice.

"What the hell, man?" I spoke to Chester as casually as I could. I didn't want to make even more of an enemy of him with formality. That's was the wrong move. He swiftly strode over to us and the rest is kind of a blur. I think he punched me.

I blacked out after that.
