Silent Ride

That car ride was the single most uncomfortable experience of my entire life. Aside from directions, no one said a word the whole time. Occasionally Grace looked at me and smiled apologetically as if to say "I'm sorry. I had no idea you even knew each other." I always looked back as lovingly as humanly possible without giving anything away. I spent most of the ride staring at Grace and thinking about how badly I wanted to kiss her. It was not an option and it wouldn't be until we got somewhere private, I knew that. But when she ran her fingers through her hair the way she did I really couldn't help it. The way she played with her hands awkwardly just made me want to hold them and tell her she was beautiful. As Mamrie turned onto a new street it occurred to me that if I wanted to be with Grace, I would have to learn to tolerate her friends. I mean, who knows? Mamrie and I were close once, maybe we can get that back. She probably had her reasons for not giving me a chance and I can be forgiving.

When we got to the show, Mamrie spoke up.

"Hannah, could you get out for a moment so Grace and I can talk?" Mamrie spoke with a certain calm rage in her voice. I obliged, keeping my distance from the car so not to snoop. I knew if it was important Grace would tell me.

(A/n: Pretty short chapter but I like it. Let me know if y'all are enjoying this, I sure am. Sorry I haven't posted in a few days I was away with no wifi. It was barbaric. More soon, I promise.)
