" I met Lacey when i was 19 years old, the year i was turned into a vampire, i was reckless and out of control but i know that a part of me loved the monster inside, the thrill and the rush was such an addiction that even today as you well know, is still alot harder for me to control" i pause to take a look at Kara to see how she is taking my confession and she nods as if she can understamnd what i have said and a hint to carry on. "Lacey is an older vampire than i am but not by much, we crossed lines when we both ended up stalking the same prey.. i mean.. person" i quickly changed my word choice when i saw Kara flinch at the word "prey".
"Lacey and I both had the taste for destruction and we thrived off of it, we changed places from year to year, killed more people than i would care to recount and we were lovers for a very long time" i finished off. " So why is she here now? what went wrong between the two of you that you look so frightened of her?" Kara bravely asked. I knew that i had to break Kara's heart now, and it was goign to kill us both but she needed to know. " We had a rule to not feed on children, she tried to break that rule and i knew that her bloodlust was spiralling out of control so i needed to get away" i spoke softly to Kara waiting for the inevitable question. " Who was the child?" came the unwanted question the one that was going to change everything. " the child was you Kara, I saved you - but Lacey killed your parents."
