"Im a vampire" i told Kara in the calmest tone that i could possibly use.. well its out there now, now we wait and see what happens - will she scream and run out that door never to be confronted again - or will she humour me politley and sit there while thinking how crazy i must be.  Instead she took on this puzzeled look and said " Vampire? Hmm.. " what? no shock, no horror no is she insane he is in shock? That must be it.. The calm before the storm.  " You dont seem very suprised Kara" I prompted hoping that she would respond or that i could at least see if she was okay.. " Well the last thing i saw was my blood dripping off your lips when i blanked out so i guess that if you were a vampire that would be a reasonable explanation.." This girl must definatley be shocked? she speaks of my being a monster as if she was just recalling how her day was! Surely she must realise that i took her very life essence away from her.. I violated her and here she sits calmly registering what i am.. " Kara how are you feeling? You arent taking this the way i thought you would".. I try and poke around for more information as to why she is taking this situation so calmly. 

"Well Aubrey to be honest i have had a history with a creature of whom i never thought was human, i have suspected there being other creatures in this world ever since i was a kid" she tells me.. "But you were screaming Kara" I state implying that she was scared then and now she miracously isnt? "Im sorry about that - I just had everything rush to me at once and i wasnt sure if you were good or evil" I couldnt beleive this.. She knew about creatures of my kind? Who could it be? and how could she put good and vampire in the same sentence.. " Kara, how do you know about vampires?" i needed to know.. " Well, not really vampire per say - when i was a little girl we lived in this wonderful house, not too big but it was cosy - i recall that one night when my mother was reading me a bed - time story it was some kind of fairytale about witches and monster that crawl in the darkness and prey on unsuspecting victims, so i got really freaked out and asked them to leave a candle on in the hallwaty - My mom obliged while telling me that i shouldnt be afraid because good truimphs evil.. But my dad got angry for her telling me these stories and that i was too old to keep a light on in the house.. " Kara paused for a moment as if relfecting on the memory and continued ...

"i was terrified and was listening out for every sound and movement, eventually i fell asleep.. i remember groggily waking up to the warm glow in my room thinking my mother must have won the argument and lit the candle. i smiled and went back to bed.. It took about 30 minutes for me to realise the heat in the room touching my skin and i started screaming for my parents but no sound came - and somehow even in my young mind i knew they were dead and that could be the only reason why they wouldn't be rushing in to save me.. my chest started constricting because of the smoke filling my lungs and i was on the verge of blacking out when this figure appeared out of no where and lifted me up and we crashed through the window - i waited for the impact but nothing came instead we came to a gentle thump, i recall thinking how impossible that would be because my room was on the second floor and no landing would be that graceful.. so i suspected something other than a human.."

Oh boy.. Here we go.. " Well Kara, That unknown figure that saved you.. Was me.."
