Chapter 14

Ava's P.O.V.

Marie and Finn told me that "Alpha" Tyler, as they called their cult leader, had to travel for business and wouldn't come back until tomorrow.

My heart ached at the thought of being separated from him, why ever that was, but I felt glad.

It would be my chance to escape this horrible place on earth and go back home.

So I began planning my escape.

As it turned night I tried to unlock the room I was held hostage in.

Thankfully it worked. I focused on any possible sounds and shadows but none were there. The corridor was completely empty.

Quickly I stepped into my own room and collected the most valuable things like my phone, keys and wallet.

Then I was out and tiptoed through the corridor.

Tyler said no one lived here but I wasn't sure if the crazy man has placed guards somewhere to keep me here.

Thankfully there were none. Neither outside or inside. He was stupid enough to rely on the lock to my room.

As I made it out the front door it creaked slightly, which got my heartbeat up to a hundred. No one else seemed to notice so I went on.

As my car was in sight I unlocked it and quickly ran to get in.

As soon as I was, I turned on the engine and raced down the street and towards freedom.

Finally.

But the happiness was short lived.

The greater the distance the more hurt my neck.

He had not been lying about his claiming bite. Was it infected?

Hissing I touched my neck but it continued to burn.

"F*ck you Tyler!" I yelled and slowed the car down.

In the next city I pulled over and went into a little hotel.

The staff seemed super nice and only once I saw someone staring at the four huge bitemarks.
Two of the in the front and two in the back.

That crazy idiot.

They gave me a room upstairs with a really comfy bed.

Sighing I let myself fall down on it and was out in no time.

Narrator's P.O.V.

"We have to call the Alpha." One of the staff members said to the other who all nodded in union.

The manager typed in his secretary's number, then they waited for him to picl up.

"Hello, this is Alpha Tyler's office."

"A young woman, probably Alpha Tyler's mate just checked into our hotel. We were wondering if she is traveling on your behalf."

The secretary sucked in a deep breath. Finally all that chaos would calm down.

"Please keep an eye on her. Alpha Tyler will come to pick his soulmate up tonight."

The manager told Tyler's secretary the address and room number, then they waited, checking on Ava every once in a while, she was fast asleep.

As Alpha Tyler arrived they all bowed down to him.

"Thank you for noticing me. She was probably just on a little night adventure and lost her track." Of course he wouldn't tell them the real reason why his mate was here in the first place.

The staff chuckled and showed him to her room.

As quiet as possible he entered and found Ava stretched out on the queen size bed.

It took everything in his control not to just fall into bed right next to her.

He was exhausted from the court day. Getting the message that his mate was missing just riled him up even more.

Carefully Tyler picked the 5'7 ft(170cm) tall woman up and went downstairs to his car.

She fit perfectly in his arms and the height difference couldn't be more perfect as well with him being 6'9 ft (210,5cm).

She sighed in her sleep and cuddled closer to his chest. Proudly he stroke over her arm with his thumb while continuing to walk.

As he placed her in the car and wanted to put on her seat belt she stirred slightly. The action caused his heart to beat faster.

He was preparing for her to wake up and cause a scene but nothing happened.

Taking a relieved breath he closed the car door and got in on the other side.

Her car would be picked up by a pack member and stored elsewhere so she couldn't escape again.

Tyler started the engine and drove back the two hundred kilometers hoping for her not to wake up.
