Chapter 17

Tyler's P.O.V

"Ava, I don't know how to start so I will just state what I am." I felt nervous. "I am a werewolf and you are my soulmate."

She squinted and stared into my eyes. No emotion on her face at all.

"When I bit you that night, my wolf was out of control. The scar you bear on your neck now is a mark that signals other males you are taken. It states that you are mine. No one can touch what is mine." I growled as she touched my mark on her neck. Yes, she is ours.

Taking a deep breath I continued with my explanation.

"When you are ready to mark me too, you can." The thought of her marking me warmed my whole body. I got a little too excited by the idea. For the first time in my entire life my wolf started to purr.

What the h*ck dude.

"Werewolves mate for life and our bond will only strengthen over time. Ava, you have probably felt the sparks when we touch. It signals that we are true mates and that no one but death can tear us apart. Through the mark I sealed our fate." I proudly told her.

Ava didn't seem amused.

"You didn't even ask for permission or told me anything about it." She mumbled and slowly raised her head to look me dead in the eye. If looks could kill, my body would be six feet under by now.

"Your creepy wolf sexually assaulted and harmed me." Eros winced at her words. Her voice got louder and louder.

"I will never be your soulmate if you continue behaving that way." I flinched as a huge wave of pain flooded over my heart. Eros howled inside my head and started pacing. He laid on his stomach to show surrender to our mate so she would stop with these hurtful words. But of course Ava was not able to see what he did.

"Who do you think you are that I would willingly mark you after what you've done to my life and freedom." I heard shuffling. As I looked up my mate was walking towards me, slightly unstable due to the mattress she was standing on.

"Tyler." She spit out in hatred. "This is not okay. This is not true love." She jumped down so se stood in front of me. My heartbeat increased as Ava yanked my head up so I had to look into her eyes. "I hate you for what you've done to me."

The pain got unbearable.

In desperation she looked into my eyes. It hurt her as well.

"If we have to spend eternity together, we live by my rules." She growled out. Relieved I nodded at her. I would accept everything as long as she stayed with me.

Then something unexpected happened. Ava looked at my face, her hard face softening slightly.

Suddenly she bared her teeth, dipped down and marked me as her property.

All pain completely vanished and I was left stunned at what had just happened, swearing to myself to never hurt my precious mate again.
