*Same Day*
7:05 P.M.
~Terry~
"Damn, so let me say this again. Brandy's dad cheated on her mom for 25 years and had another woman with two grown kids around your age? All this happened when I was sleep?" Sean asked as he sat up a bit on the couch.
After Brandy came home, I allowed Sean to move into the townhouse. I kept telling him that I could buy him a house, but he doesn't feel like he deserves it.
Sean saw me storm out and followed me as usual. Although he's annoying, he's the best big brother I could ask for.
"Yes. Ruined my damn daughter's party. Then, not to mention us getting into that heated argument." I said as I laid back on the couch.
"Tell me about the argument because you was hella pissed in the truck." Sean said as he rubbed his chest a little.
I explained to Sean the whole argument. Word from word. It's still replaying in the back of my mind.
"It's like ever since she came home she isn't the same Brandy." I said as I rubbed my temples to prevent getting an oncoming headache.
"Bro, you got to realize she has went through a lot." Sean said as he looked at me.
"Man, I know my wife has been through trauma. What about me?" I said as I sat up a little bit.
"Terry."
"Bro, we've all been exhausted and worried about my wife and child. No one has never asked me about how I feel." I said as I started breaking down.
"Lil bro."
I didn't say anything. I just started crying heavily.
"Baby boy." Sean said as he sat beside me and hugged me.
"Sean, I was depressed and stressed out. I went without eating. Days. I wasn't hungry. I didn't take care of myself because I was worried about her ass. I did give a damn about my baby! She's my wife. I love her ass. Why would I no—"
"I know, baby boy. You did all you could and even more, bro. I'm so proud of the man you are. You stood by your wife and daughter's side."
"Bro, that shit made me sick. You wanna know something?"
"Hm? Tell me, bro." Sean said as he rubbed my back for comfort.
"I knew I reached my lowest when the doctors told me about Amilyan. Remember when they were saying Amilyan was supposed to die that week? Hm?"
Sean nodded as he rubbed his eyes.
"That's the same week they told Brandy that she's paralyzed and there was no sign of her walking again."
Sean sniffed as he kept nodding his head.
"I came back here to the townhouse and I was at my lowest, bro. I never been that down before. I was gonna—"
"Ah nah, man. You can't be doing that, T. We need you here. You can't leave us. Don't you ever think like that again. Why you ain't call me?"
"Sean, I know you was tired of me. Hell, you still tired of me."
"I'm not—Shit!" Sean said grabbing his chest.
"What's wrong, Sean?"
"I got pain in my chest, bro. Shit." Sean said as he bent down.
"Sit up, bro." I said as I caught him and sat him down.
"I think it's gas if this ain't heartburn, but this hurt."
