Kayla brought us straight to Raphael's office. Apparently he wanted to see us for something. He sat behind his desk, his dark hair neatly combed back. When we entered the office, which was at the pack house this time, he gestured for us to sit. "Listen, I know the three of you are only temporary, and I know how we're supposed to treat guests, but I have a really important meeting tomorrow. Another alpha is visiting the pack, so I need you to stay out of my way, please. At least until the meeting is over."

I nodded in response to his statement. "Got it," Jason replied to him. "We'll stay in the room."

Raphael sighed. "You don't have to stay in there the whole time. You can wander about the pack lands if you wish, just don't interrupt the meeting unless it's a life-or-death situation. We'll be in this office." My lips shaped the words 'thank you', and he nodded in response to that.

"We'll be on our way, then." Jason told him, standing.

"Wait," Raphael said. Jason looked at him pointedly. "There's a really nice restaurant here, called 'Lobo's'. In case you wanted to check it out. Kayla or one of the pack members could show you the way, if you want." Jason nodded, a small smile on his face. Aidan said thank you, and I just smiled at him. Not like I can do much else.

We asked a passing pack member about 'Lobo's'. "Oh, it's the best restaurant in Blood Moon! Best Mexican food I've ever tasted!" She exclaimed. She was a plump woman, and very kind. "If you need me to show you the way, I will. I have a bit of free time on my hands right now."

Aidan turned his head to me. "I like Mexican food. We haven't had it in forever. Can we go? Please?" I pretended to think about it.

"Of course we can go." I told him. His face lit up.

"Ma'am, If we could take you up on that offer to show us the way?" Jason asked, having heard what I'd told Aidan. She smiled and started off.

"Do you have to go?" The blonde haired girl hugged me fiercely, not letting me get packed.

"It's only for a couple days, Ash, you'll be fine. Besides, Koda's in charge of the pack." She pulled away, gazing at me with intense blue eyes.

"I still don't get that. You're taking your gamma and delta, but not your beta? Why leave him behind?"

"You know why, Ashlyn." I stared my sister down. She knows why Koda, my beta, can't come.

"Just because he can't talk doesn't mean you can't bring him for extra protection. I want you to be safe, Austin."

"Trust me, Max and Silas are enough protection. I promise I'll be careful. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to get packed." At my words, she turned and walked out of the room.

I knew she didn't want me to go. It wasn't that she was clingy, just worried. After what happened to our brother, she was always worried whenever I left to go somewhere far away. This time it was a trip to the Blood Moon pack, one of our allies. I finished packing just as the doorbell rang. I heard my mom answer it, and heard Max's voice. Max Cross was my gamma, and a damn good one at that. He managed minor things with Silas, like pack members who acted out, Cubs, and guests, while Koda and I handled the pack business. Occasionally, Max and Silas would help Koda and I with pack work, but only when we were overwhelmed with paperwork. Silas Granger was my delta, and Koda Foxx was my beta. Reluctantly, I made my way downstairs to socialize with the people I called friends.
