Hey guys! How are all you all doing?
School is starting back up so I'm not going to updating every or every other day like I have been possibly but it will still be frequent. I think everyone had been taking advantage of the break and now it is sadly over.
The song for this chapter is "Little Do You Know" by Alex & Sierra. I get like it fit a bit but it may be replaced and used in a later chapter we will never know. Or maybe we will if that later chapter comes. If you think of a different song or want to hear one let me know. I could use some inspiration and new music to listen to.
Without further ramble here is chapter nine...

"That's fair." I agreed.
"Alright so I guess I'll start from the beginning, take my own advice huh?" Lucas chuckles dryly. There's nothing funny about what we went through. The boys just nod expectantly.
"So I guess the beginning is what our first memories are and that kind of stuff since you said we were taken at one and a half. Yeah, so Emily was never really a great mother nor was Ronald." He spits out Ronald's name and I can't help but snuggle deeper into Lu as he mentions his name.
"They were never really attentive to either of us. You know just the bare minimum amount of care that you are supposed to give a toddler or little kid. They would both say belittling remarks to both of us and I know parents like to spank their kids or whatever sometimes when they're real young but I mean they whooped us good. Enough to make us sore for the rest of the day maybe even more. We wouldn't even do anything wrong. They would just come up to us and say we were a bad boy or girl and do it. They would do some other stuff too as far as the physical." The boys look distraught that we had to go through that at such a young age. Lucas ignores the looks and obvious questions and continues.
"As the years went on I guess you could call them beatings even at that age because it was bad for a small child. But yeah they got worse they would do a hard smack to the face or a hard shove. However they would do it in a way that was easy to blame as an accident so at school we could say we were clumsy if it was caught. They would also give us less food then what they should but enough to get by and just a tad bit more." He holds up his hand that isn't resting around me and makes that little pinch gesture to indicate a really small amount. "It also didn't help that Emily liked to drink and do what we later realized were drugs and Ronald liked to drink as well." He takes a breath and pauses thinking where to go next though I have a feeling I know what is coming next.
"When we were eight Emily was out one night to do a grocery run. She went to a small corner market where it was a shady place but everything was dirt cheap so they liked to go there. Well that night there was some dude that thought it was a good idea to try to rob the place. Well Emily was a little tipsy that night we saw her down a shot or two before she left. Well from what we were told the robber was telling the cashier, her and the other two people to stay put but she was intoxicated just enough to not listen." The boys all grow curious looks and they have subconsciously moved forward a little like they are in the middle of the most intense part of the origin story in a superhero movie. Hate to break it to you boys it gets worse but I guess more interesting.
"Well apparently she claimed she was done shopping and just went and tried to cut the robber off from in front of the register so she could pay and leave. There was some sort of pushing or something, we don't know. But it ended with her getting shot. The guy got away with the money, never got caught and she bled out and was pronounced DOA. We were in the next room over as the police told Ronald. He hid us and said we were asleep. At that time Lily had a bruise on her face that didn't look too much like an accident so he had to hide us. Of course no one wanted to disturb two eight year olds sleeping so to tell them their mother was dead so they left it at that.
