5- Booty Call

"Anna, I know what it looks like but let me explain." You tried to speak quickly before she could freak out on you.

"You know what? If you didn't want to come you didn't have to." She stepped closer to you, her voice slowly getting higher. "Brett is out there wondering what the hell you're doing and why you're running from him." Anna knew she was stretching the truth. But you'd disappeared for almost thirty minutes and everyone at the table asked about you at least once. If she were being honest with herself, she'd been so busy trying to keep her date focused on her that she had barely noticed your absence. And Brett was on his phone, ignoring the other two at the table.

"Anna, I think I'm going crazy and I'm sorry, but I've got to go." You tried to walk around her towards the exit, but she gripped your arm to stop you. You turned around to look at her, but she was simply looking at the ground.

"I need you to stay..." Her voice was a mumble. She knew she was being a terrible friend, but she felt like she needed the date to go well. She'd never liked anyone this much before and it was scary to think that one wrong move could cause her to ruin it.

You felt bad for her, and even though you wanted to stay and help her you didn't think it would be wise to finish a date with someone you couldn't be less interested in, you knew you needed to go home. You wanted to call Trey and talk this whole thing out and you knew that if you were going crazy, Trey would tell you.

"Here's what we're gonna do." You started, taking your arm out of her grasp to place your hands at each of her shoulders. "You are going to tell them I got sick and you found me in here trying to get ready to come back out. You'll tell them I looked awful and you, being the great friend you are, paid for me to get a ride home." You finished and looked at her with a smile. She didn't seem to buy it at first, but the more she thought about it the more she seemed to like it.

She ended up walking back to the table as you snuck out the front door. The wind outside nipped at your exposed skin, making goosebumps appear up and down your arms. As you got on your phone to order an uber, an arm wrapped around your shoulders and the smell of cigarette smoke filled your nose.

"Hey baby girl, I heard you didn't feel well." Your body tensed up at the sound of Brett's voice so close to your ears. Your mind compared his voice with Kylo's before you could think of anything else. Kylo's voice is deep, and seductive. Comforting and soft at the same time; like satin. Brett's, on the other hand, reminded you of a cactus. Scratchy, uncomfortable, and weird.

You shrugged your shoulders up to your ears, hoping to hide your neck from him, making it seem like you were cold. "Hey, Brett. I really don't. I'm just gonna head home and get some rest." You gave him a weak smile, continuing to try and sell the act. Brett wrapped his arm around you, bringing himself closer to you. He leaned in to whisper in your ear.

"I think I know what could make you feel a little better." His seductive tone brought a shiver to your spine, whether out of disgust or surprise, you weren't sure.

"I think I'm okay for tonight, but definitely hit me up some other time." You were tempted, hoping to give him a chance to redeem himself. The aching that Kylo had left you with hadn't gone away, and you were growing irritated the longer you were left unsatisfied. But now, you just wanted to get in an uber and call Trey, to talk out what was going on in your mind.

Brett sighed, pulling away from you just a bit. "Are you sure? I got some new sheets I've been dying to test drive with a lucky lady." He was hoping to sound tempting rather than desperate. He'd been thinking of you lately and he enjoyed how responsive you seemed to be to his touch. He hadn't met anyone that was so turned on by him and he wanted to experience it again. He felt disappointed when he felt you shrug off his arm and take a step away from him.
