Monday morning came a lot quicker than your visit with Brett. Walking into your office, you noticed a coffee sitting by your computer screen with a note strapped to it saying, 'see me ASAP!' and Trey's sloppy signature on the bottom. You'd ignored his texts all weekend after he left your house, aside from letting him know you weren't murdered. In all honestly, you weren't in the mood to recall your disappointing dick appointment so quickly; but you knew it was time to face the oncoming mockery.

"I hope this is spiked with some tequila. I'm not ready to talk about Brett without it." You sighed, walking into Trey's office. He was staring at his screen with his glasses high on his nose, typing away on his keyboard.

"I can't promise it's spiked but what I can promise is that I'll pay for drinks this weekend if you tell me." He leaned over to smirk at you with his glasses slid down the bridge of his nose from the side of his computer. You laughed at his bribe and took a sip of your coffee before starting your story.

"Long story short, He was no better than the man in my 'nightmare' that we made up." You moved your hands to show quotations around the word 'nightmare' in your sentence. At this Trey raised his eyebrows at you to continue your story. "He lasted like maybe five minutes and had zero foreplay."

Trey's belly laughter erupted throughout his office as he tried to cover his mouth to muffle himself. Nothing in this world could muffle his laughter, it's part of his undeniable charm. However, in that moment, there was nothing charming about it. You narrowed your eyes and glared at your best friend.

"That's not even the worst part, Trey." You mumbled, taking the bridge of your nose between your fingers, and closing your eyes.

"Please tell me he wasn't small." Trey giggled, still covering his mouth. You looked up at him with a blank face. Trey was silent for all of 30 seconds before his laughter came back- this time with knee slaps. "I am so sorry I encouraged that."

"It's fine, I knew I probably wouldn't get anything out of it anyway."

"So, what did you do? Just go home?" Trey asked, taking a breath to regain his composure, and moving back to his computer monitor.

"Pretty much. I didn't want to stay, anyway. He had no bedsheets and his comforter seemed really old with a bunch of weird stains." You took another sip of your coffee, trying to take your mind off the encounter altogether. Trey nodded showing he understood.

"Have you seen our case load for the day?" He asked, changing the subject. "I don't know how they expect us to carry this many and give them all the attention they need. It's humanly impossible."

You stood up, preparing to go back to your office. "Not yet, but I'll go take a peek." Trey waved goodbye as you walked out the door. The both of you were two out of four caseworkers for your company yet somehow you and Trey alone took on the caseload of four caseworkers.

Walking into your office, you shut the door and turned on your Bluetooth speaker so that you could listen to music while you opened your cases assigned for the day. While looking through your assigned cases and getting in contact with families, you somehow lost track of time. Before you knew it, you heard a knock on your door. You looked up and saw one of your other case workers, Anna, waving at you through your office window. You waved at her to come in.

"Hey girly, I think Trey, Michael and I had talked about going out for lunch. Wanna come?" Anna mentioned as she walked in. You took a second to look at your clock, showing it was already one o'clock in the afternoon. You'd been working nonstop since nine o'clock this morning.

Shaking your head, you stood up and grabbed your wallet. "Let's go" you said with a smile. Anna smiled back and linked your arm with hers as the two of you walked to meet the boys at a diner halfway down the road from your office. When you walked in, you saw Trey look up at you and smile, waving the two of you over to his table.
