It had been months since he asked me to date him. Its not like we quarrelled or anything, but I had this feeling that I couldn't get rid of: doubt. I doubted if this was the right choice, or this was what I wanted. I doubted that dating a Professor is allowed in Hogwarts. I mean, shipping a student with a Professor is totally a Dumbledore thing to do, but I guess the rules say otherwise.

"(y/n), hurry up! Stop second guessing your life decisions while standing naked in the shower," Hermione pounded on the bathroom door. Damn, she didn't have to be this elaborate.

"Coming!" I yelled.

We had double potions first thing in the morning, which was perfect. I could use a word or two with Severus.

We got seated in potions classroom as people started to fill in. My gaze focused on Severus unintentionally. There was something wrong with him, I could feel it. He didn't even bother to throw me a little smirk like he usually did.

"Got a thing for the Professor?" Ron nudged me.

"Shut up, class is about to begin," I snapped. I didn't know how to answer that question. Severus and I agreed to keep our relationship private, but that didn't mean I should deny it.

"Today we will brew antidote for common poison," Severus began his class.

He didn't even come near me or even acknowledge my existence, so I waited for the class to end and talk to him.

"Severus? Is everything okay?" I approached him after making sure the class was empty.

"Yes, now go away," he said through gritted teeth, still not looking at me and scribbling on his parchment.

"What? Why? Listen, I'm sorry if I-"

"I told you to go away, didn't I? Don't make me repeat myself!" he persisted.

"Severus-"

"You know what, let's just end this relationship. It's not a good idea anyway," he slammed the table, this time looking at me dead in the eye. It was strange, I saw sadness instead of anger in his eyes. As if someone had forced him to end our relationship.

"Did someone force you to do this?" I tried to caress his face.

"No, now get the hell out!" he slapped my hand away violently.

"Sev-"

"Go!" he bellowed.

Tears started to well up my eyes as I ran out of the classroom. I headed for my dorm and locked the door as soon as I got there. I plopped on my bed and cried myself to sleep.

After what seemed like ages, I finally woke up and it was dinner time. I got up lazily and dragged myself to the dining hall.

"There you are, (y/n)." Hermione welcomed me.

"Where have you been?" Ron asked.

"Why are your eyes swollen. Are you okay?" Harry inquired.

"Yep, I'm fine. Please don't ask," I shook him off just like that.

"If you say so," Harry shrugged.

I sat down right before Dumbledore started talking.

"Attention everyone, there will be yule ball by the end of this week," he announced. "You have to find a partner to go with, and your head of the house will teach you how to dance. As for the outfit, you may ask your parents to send them for you or you can go to Hogsmeade tomorrow under the supervision of the head of your house. Only 10 students are allowed to go per house. For those who wants to go, please register to the head of your house. You may also entrust the ones who go to Hogsmeade with your outfit, if they agree, that is. Now, may the feast begin,"
