I was awoken in the middle of the night by a sharp throbbing pain in my lower abdomen. I rushed to the bathroom, assuming I had to release a chocolate hostage. I sat on the rim of the toilet seat, glaring at the streaky stains that marked my white cotton panties. Apparently, it also ruined my (f/c) PJ pants.
Merlin's beard! I was bleeding! The prophecy... Was this what Trelawney meant? I was dying! Tears started to well up in my eyes, I didn't want to die yet. "What the hell am I supposed to do? Surely, the rational thing would be to see Madam Pomfrey, but what if she had to examine me?" I shuddered at that thought, far too embarrassed to pursue that option.
"That's right, Hermione! That super smart friend of mine might be able to help me." I pulled myself together and stuffed a wad of toilet paper in my panties before proceeding to wake my roommate up.
"Hey, Herms, I think the prophecy true! I-I'm dying! You've got to help me!" I shook her really hard.
Hermione sat up and rubbed her eyes, "Huh? What?"
"My stomach hurts a lot and I-I'm bleeding down there," I cried.
"Wha- Let's go to the hospital wing now!" Hermione demanded.
"No, we can't-"
"We don't have any other choices, do we?" I sighed and wore my robe to cover the blood stain before we left our dorm.
"Hold on to me," she pulled me closer to her, I nodded and wrapped my arm around her shoulder.
We slowly crept down the stairs into the common room and exited into the darkness of the hallway.
"Lumos," Hermione whispered, the end of her wand glowed and lighting up the eerie paintings on the wall. Everyone in the paintings were thankfully asleep. She lowered her wand, so she didn't wake anyone up.
"Are you alright? Can you still walk?" Asked Hermione as we went down a couple flight of stairs.
"I'm fine..." I was able to walk, thanks to her.
I collapsed to the ground as soon as we reached the end of the last staircase. The pain was getting worse.
"(y/n)!" she knelt down next to me.
"It hurts so bad! I-I can't-," I hissed out of pain.
"Deep breaths, (y/n). Deep breaths..." Hermione patted my back slowly.
I took a couple of deep breaths and calmed down, feeling a little bit better.
"Better?" She helped me up carefully.
"Yes," I nodded, "Thanks,"
"That's what friends are for," she smiled.
We carried on with our journey to the hospital wing, with occasional breaks and Hermione's support.
Suddenly, we were greeted with another light beaming at us, stinging our eyes.
"Miss Granger and Miss... (l/n)?" the bright light asked with an unexpected, almost surprised tone in his voice.
I didn't even have to open my squinted eyes to know we had been caught by Professor Snape. I blocked out some of the light, holding my hand in front of my face. Snape lowered his wand slightly, and I was able to see him. "Why are you out of bed?" he inquired with his usual emotionless tone matched with his facial expression.
