The light of dawn seeped into my room. I rubbed my bleary eyes and nudged my head towards the window. There was a pearly glow in the sky, and the birds were singing. A twitter here, a twitter there and then more and more and soon a chorus. I sighed in admiration before looking at the wall clock and freak out; it was already 7:30 a.m.! I looked around and discovered that Hermione was still sleeping like a log.

I approached my sleeping roommate, attempting to wake her up, "Hermione, wake up. It's already 7:30 a.m.!" Thank goodness she's a light sleeper.

"Mmh... Good morning, (y/n)." she stretched, still half asleep.

I scurried to the bathroom, brushing my teeth hurriedly as if I was racing with the Flash. After that, I washed my face and applied moisturizer. I didn't have time to take a shower, so I just get dressed and applied some perfume. I peeked out of the bathroom, expecting Hermione wasn't sitting on her bed while staring blankly at the window. And, of course, reality never goes as you expected.

"If we are late, it's all thanks to you." I rolled my eyes.

"Oh, sorry," she chuckled with a hint of embarrassment in her voice before proceeding to the bathroom to get herself ready for the day.

"Good grief," I muttered to myself as I marched towards the dressing table which was across my bed and sat on the little wooden stool that was in front of it. I put my hair up in a ponytail, not wanting them to get to my face and distract me during class.

"Let's go, I'm ready," Hermione walked out of the bathroom.

"That was unexpectedly... quick... Miss... Granger..." I mimicked Snape, adding unnecessary pauses to my sentences.

Hermione looked puzzled, apparently she didn't get the joke. "Ah, of course. She hasn't know how Snape talks," I thought.

"Whatever, let's go," I dragged her out of the room and shut the door behind me. I glanced at my pocket watch for a bit before shoving it back into my pocket; it was already eight.

Realizing we only had remained 30 minutes for breakfast, we increased our pace. We took a few turns before arriving to the Grand staircase, which was also known as the changing staircase. We took a short break before rushing down the stairs. Hermione was in front of me, her over sized robe swept the staircase. I accidentally stepped on her robe and rolled all the way down to the bottom. Hermione was fast enough to grab on the handrail, but I wasn't that lucky. My body hit the cold hard ground. I think I broke my backbone; it hurts so bad, I wasn't even exaggerating. Curse myself for being clumsy.

Hermione then caught up with me, "(y/n), are you alright?" Guilt was reflecting from her glassy brown eyes.

"I'm alright, don't worry it's not your fault," I said weakly.

I tried standing up with her help, but I lost my balance and collapsed to the ground once again. This time, I felt giddy. I think I will pass out anytime soon. Hermione panicked, she screamed for help but unfortunately no one around. Hermione screamed even louder until I heard someone walked out of the headmaster's office. He approached us and asked Hermione what had happened. I think I've heard this velvety voice somewhere... He then carried me (Princess style aww...) and that was when his obsidian eyes locked with my (e/c) ones, and then I lost my consciousness.

I slowly opened my eyes, allowing them to cope with the light in my surroundings. I scanned the room, trying to figure out my current location. Evidently, I was in the hospital wing; there were lots of hospital beds and blinds so I didn't have to take a second guess on my location. It was really peaceful; I was alone in that room. The slanting ray of the setting sun poured through the window, giving the room a warm orange hue; hinting I've been unconscious for the entire day.
