Mikaelsons' Mate - The Vampire Diaries

Chapter Eleven - "Now, speaking of your Mates... How are they? Are they hot?"

Madeline still couldn't believe it. Her remaining Mates had been woken up, and now they were all together. The McCall girl still couldn't get over how she felt when they were standing by her side. She felt whole, and complete, and they hadn't even activated the bond yet. The strawberry blonde couldn't wait to learn more about them. Of course, Nik and Eli had told her all about their brothers and their sister, but Maddie couldn't wait until they told her themselves. She wanted to learn about their lives from their own perspectives.

Finn couldn't help but let his entire posture relax at the presence of his Mate. The eldest Mikaelson was never loved or cared for when he was human, and after he turned, he couldn't lie, he hated what he was. Finn never wanted to hurt anyone, and with the constant bloodlust, he was always so worried he'd kill people and become a monster. He didn't want to become a monster. He hoped things would change in the presence of his Mate, and she was already helping him become at peace while awake.

Kol was ecstatic. The youngest male in the Mikaelson family was so happy and so excited when he woke up to see the beautiful strawberry blonde he only had the pleasure of seeing in his dreams. Kol couldn't wait to hold her, to kiss her, to just... Touch her. He wanted to feel her and love her. Kol just wanted someone to look at him and not see a psychotic murderer, and just by the way she was watching him now, he knew he had found that person.

The remaining Mikaelson's, Elijah, Niklaus, and Rebekah had left them alone. They thought it'd be good to leave them to get to know each other and maybe activate the bond if they wanted to. Kol, Finn, and Madeline had been brought to a spare room upstairs where they had sat on the bed.

"You have no idea how happy we are to finally meet you, my Darling," Kol spoke, breaking the loved-up silence they had created.

"I'm happy to finally meet you too... Ever since Nik and Eli told me about you, I've just been waiting for the day the sacrifice was complete so we'd be able to see each other," Madeline said as she looked between Finn and Kol.

"And umm... What exactly have our brothers told you about us?" Finn couldn't help but ask.

He didn't want his Mate to see him as a bore like he knew the rest of his siblings saw him as. Finn didn't want his Mate getting bored of him, or think he was somehow lesser than the rest of his siblings.

Kol was a little bit worried that Nik and Elijah had told her that he was a straight-up murderer. He had slaughtered thousands of people, hundreds of villages. The youngest male Mikaelson was worried that she wouldn't want to be his mate after she found out.

"Enough," Madeline spoke. "I know what you've done, and I don't care. I just... Want to hear everything from your perspective."

Both of the Mikaelson brothers had relaxed after she said that. If they had already told her about all the terrible deeds that Kol had performed, and if they already told her about their views on Finn but she still cared deeply for them, then they weren't worried.

So the brothers spent just over three hours, talking. They took it in turns to talk about their life experiences, with Kol going first. He spoke about how he was a witch before they were all turned. He told her how devastated he was when he first woke up after being killed, only to find that he had lost his connection to magic. Then, Kol told his Mate about all the people he killed, all the rampages he went on. He told her that a part of him did it to feel the rush he used to feel whenever he performed magic and a part of him did it to gain the attention of his older brothers.

Finn had much less to speak about. He only ever really had his human years to describe to the strawberry blonde. He had been daggered about one hundred years after they turned, so he didn't have much life experience to share with his Mate. A part of him was ashamed, but Madeline simply put her hand over his and told him to tell her every small detail about his human life. So he did. He spoke of how he hunted with their father, and how he eventually taught his brothers to hunt. He started teaching Nik until his father grew angry, and because he was afraid of his father as much as the rest of his siblings, he stopped. Finn told her about his eldest sister, the one he loved with all his heart but lost. Madeline's heart grew heavy for the now eldest Mikaelson, and she squeezed his hand tighter in the hopes of providing comfort.
