Tom Riddle's P.O.V

I wanted so badly to lay with her there forever, feeling our lips meet with such passionate kisses and seeing her radiant and blissful.
But I knew the time was coming soon.
The war.

I have told my people, my servants, that today was indeed the day that I killed Harry Potter with Dumbledore's wand and ruled both the wizarding and muggle world.
But I wanted nothing more in that moment then to call it off and spend the rest of my mortal life with Avalon.
Because this mission to kill Harry Potter doesn't interest me anymore, not after meeting Avalon.

She changed my perspective of life, she made me feel love when I was immune to it. She made me feel happiness, sadness, anger, fear, but most of all she made me feel.

So I wanted to spend my last moments before the war, here. Laying on the cold, stone floor as the rain dribbled onto us.
Stupid smirks on our faces, hands interlocked and our hearts beating frantically out of our chests.
But I had to tell her.

"Avalon." I sat up and pressed my lips together.

"Tom." she replied with a puzzled look on her face as she sat up from the floor.

"There's something you should know. Something about your brother." I gulped.

"What about him?" she pressed her eyebrows together.

I hesitated to open my mouth, to let the words come out of my mouth, but I knew I had to tell her.

"I've ordered him to do something, in order for me to get Dumbledore's wand." I mumbled as my lips quivered. "But I regret it now- because I don't want to be involved in this war anymore-"

"What do you mean you ordered him to do something?" she stood up from the ground and glared down at me.
I quickly stood up after her.

"I ordered him to kill Dumbledore." I voiced.

She took a few steps away from me and placed her hand around her throat, grasping onto it like she couldn't breathe. She glared down at the floor and suddenly her posture stiffened, roaming her eyes around the floor and back up at me.
"Where is he?" she trembled.

But before I could reply, we heard a loud boom coming from Hogwarts and an ear-splitting laughter. Bellatrix Lestrange.
We both shot our eyes towards the building to see the walls crumbling down and getting destroyed by huge, vivid balls of light. Death eaters have taken over and are destroying Hogwarts.

"It's happening." I trembled as I grabbed Avalon's hand.

She quickly yanked it away and stared at me with pools in her eyes, her mouth wide open like she was attempting to speak but nothing but a whimper came out. She shook her head and grasped onto her hair, closing her eyes and mumbling to herself.

"This isn't real, please tell me this isn't happening." she quavered with a shaky voice.

"We have to get out of here, now." I voiced as I held out my hand for her to grab.

Her breathing was heavy and she inched closer to me with rage in her eyes, and tears streaming down her face.
"I'm not going anywhere with you." she muttered with tremor in her voice. "Where's Draco, I need to find him."

"Probably in the courtyard-"

She brushed past my shoulder and started bolting as fast as she could towards the explosions, screaming out Draco's name with a strained voice. I almost couldn't believe my eyes, Hogwarts getting destroyed to pieces right in front of me and I actually feel guilty. I feel saddened, pained, any word to describe it.
