Chapter 19: It Went Viral

THIRD PERSON's PoV

Nag-inat ng leeg si Laszlo paglabas niya mula sa kanyang private room. He had so much of his mother's sermons for causing a scene in public during the other day, in which it so happened she was there. He can't forget how furious his mother was in contacting all the stores with CCTV's and even vehicles with dash cameras in the areas of scenes to take down all the footage, to avoid it from getting viral like what happened months ago.

"Mabuti nalang malapit na death anniversary nina papa kaya she's not on her worst." he mumbled his thoughts out, but then he stopped upon realizing what he just thought.

"O right, that death anniversary." his voice was manifesting a tone of dislike yet still calm.

He sighed and continued to walk through the hallway with his mask when he passed by a group of limping students watching something on their phones.

"Guys look, nangyari ulit yung nagviral dati."
"Ang weird naman yan."
"Ba't naman nagkakaganyan yung mga tao?"
"Parang trip nila yung ano... yung tumatakbong naka-hoodie."
"Nabaliw ba sila o tinutugis nila yung tumawid?"
"Grabe, ang labo ng story behind this footage."

Laszlo slowed his steps upon hearing that. He moved his face a bit sideways to take a look at them, malakas ang kutob niyang siya ang pinag-uusapan ng mga ito.

'Teka, akala ko ba na take-down na lahat ng footage? Mama would be furious about this.' he thought and started to feel nervous, then out of it, he rushed to their classroom to avoid the other special students in the hallway.

"Laszlo, nakita mo na 'to?" Butter asked him while he was still chasing his breaths and feel consumed by everything that's happening outside.

"Yung alin?" he asked at halatang wala sa sarili.

"Ito o. Yung viral ngayon na mga taong may hinahabol na lalake. Grabe, ang laking gulo nito, lalo na yung chain accidents na naganap." pahayag ni Butter at itinapat ang screen ng kanyang cellphone sa binata. It was a dash cam footage that caught him crossing a highway and caused a chain accident, good thing the angle was good enough not to have a shot of his face. To his surprise, he stood up away from it as a reaction of fear.

"Laszlo ayos ka lang?" si Butter ay napatingin tuloy sa kanya sa pagtataka nang dahil sa naging reaksyon niya.

"O-Oo." he stammered and tried to regain his poise. Mabuti nalang at pinalagpas iyon ng dalaga at nagpatuloy nalang sa panonood.

Laszlo took a deep breath and looked around, there he realized some of his classmates were also watching the viral footage on their phones. He can't help it but feel tensed as his hands get all sweaty.

He doesn't know what to do anymore, kalat na kalat na ulit siya sa internet, at ang akala'y mababaon na sa limot ang naunang viral video tungkol sa kanya. Although it was just a single dash cam footage of him, malaking bagay na iyon na maaring mag-udyok sa mga tao na alamin ang buong storya sa likod ng camera, na alamin ang kanyang pagkatao na may kaakibat na panganib ng paglantad ng kanyang sumpang iilan lang ang nakakaalam.

Good thing their first period teacher, their adviser sir Clem finally came inside to start the class, at nahuli nito ang kanyang mga kaklase sa pinapanood.

"Class, itago niyo na ang phones n'yo dahil magsisimula na tayo ng klase. Mas mabuti pa'ng makabuluhan at educational videos ang papanoorin n'yo kesa sa makiusyuso kayo sa problema ng iba." sabi nito at sumunod naman ang mga kaklase ng binata.

Laszlo did not utter anything to hide himself from suspicions. Sir Clem formally started the class, but before that, he noticed him smiling meaningfully at him, like he was helping him.
