It has been how many days when I and Lydia have hangout. I am meeting her right now. I was just wearing a blue hoodie paired with black pants and white sneakers. I was waiting for Kuya Kael outside our house when Niel's car parks in front of me. He goes out of his car and looks at me. Waiting for the right time to say something.
I was just facing my phone, not minding his presence. He goes near to me and approaches me.
"Hey, about what happened the other day. I'm sorry." He said.
I try to look at him, with the boiling anger that is within me, I don't want to see him. I don't want to breathe in the same air as him. I just didn't notice him and walked past him.
I was meeting Lydia in the coffee shop. She was wearing a white turtle neck paired with black high waist shorts and her heels. Her hair was in a messy bun and she puts light make-up on her face, defining the details and her features. She stands up as she saw me arriving.
"College life is destroying our friendship. We haven't seen each other lately. So how's the life of Mika?" She said while looking at the menu.
I miss Lydia, I haven't seen her for a couple of weeks. At this point, she's the only one that I have.
"I'd rather not tell? So why did you invite me here? Spill the tea?" I asked
Lydia knows a lot of things may it be local or national. She knows everything. Well aside from the fact that she has a lot of friends in different places.
Her face began to change, her expression alters. She went from sassy to serious. She looks at me with concerns in her eyes.
"Mik, I have something to tell you. It's about your Dad" she said.
Her voice was soft then, more likely she was doubting, having second thoughts.
"What about him?" I asked in return.
Her face was creasing, she was afraid to tell me.
"Your Father's Company isn't doing well, and I heard your father talking to dad, asking for some help. But I heard that there is only one person that could save the company. And it's you." She said
I was confused by what she said. Me? The solution to his problem? How can I even help his company?
"Me? How come? Impossible." I said sarcastically.
But she looks at me vividly.
"You are going to be the biggest bait for his company. Remember when Neil arrived here a few weeks ago, his father and your dad are fixing you in a marriage," she said.
I was speechless, I don't know what to say. I was so mad. He's going to sacrifice me just to save his company. Well, what do I expect from him? I didn't notice that my eyes are already swelling from my tears.
Suddenly, a man lends his handkerchief to me. It was Neil. I look at him. I throw his handkerchief away. Thoughts began to govern my thinking. I was feeling dizzy. But I just pushed him and run away.
While I was running I bumped into Conan. He was shocked when he saw me. He was about to ask what happened when I abruptly hugged him.
"Take me, take me with you!" As I cry in his arms.
He comforts me. We went outside of the mall to ride a tricycle. It was my first time riding it. It was nice, you can able to see the buildings and the air will certainly fondle you. I was sitting beside Conan.
His hair was being played by the wind. His side angle is way too perfect, his long nose, his defined jaw, his gazes were too sharp.
I didn't notice that I was already looking at him for so long that he grinned.
"Your gazes are melting me," he said while laughing.
I punched him and rolled my eyes.
I don't know where we're heading but I trust him. There is just something within him that makes me trust him. I can see the green trees already, the ambiance that uplifts the vibe. I know that he is going to bring me here again.
It was already 7 in the evening when we arrived at their house, we stopped there for a bit to get some things and headed to the same spot where we witness the beauty of the sky.
The tree was swayed by the howling wind and beside it was the bench. We were sitting there.
"What happened to you a while ago?" He asked.
It was too personal, I don't want to share it.
"It's okay, I understand. I'll just give you some time to rest."
I started crying.
"It's my dad. He was too possessive to the point that he chokes my freedom. I can't do the things I want, I'm always being controlled by him. I want to be free. Even just for a day, I want to forget all the pain, the grief, all the problems. I just want to rest." I sobbed.
"Pain is inevitable, we can't avoid. But it's better to endure the pain. Because it's the pain that keeps a person strong. If you're tired then take a rest, if you want to be free, do the things that make you happy. Don't live the life that your Dad has planned. Live your life. At the end of the day, only you can decide if you want to deprive your own life." He said.
I looked at him, he wipes my tears and hugs me.
"If only I have the power to reach you. If only I have your heart," he said
"If only the stars were on our side" I replied.
" We don't know what our future lies ahead but it's up to us if we're going to heed what the stars have aligned for us." He replied
He looks at me, He draws near to me, I can feel his warm breath. He caressed my face as I closed my eyes.
And then, we kiss.
