Chapt. 1: Alone Until I Met You

Dad... I'm so sorry... I wasn't strong enough to stop you for doing what you did... I am weak. You were in so much pain and all I could do was watch. And here you are, lying in front of me with your sword through your chest... 

I have cried many tears and here I am, still sitting in front of your dead body. But... Why?... Why have I stopped crying? Why don't I feel sad anymore? Why can't... I feel...? 

~Present~ 

"Nobody will find us here. As soon as night hits, that's when we make our attack." 

"This will be easier than I thought." Two rogues said as they planned out their attack as I sat in a tree right above them. I don't care about what attack they are going to commit, but they are trespassing and I hate trespassers. 

"Tch." I click my tongue before moving out of the tree before either one of the rogues could spot me. 

"Do you hear something?" 

"No. Let's get a move on before we're spotted-ack!" I slam down the rogue and land beside him in a kneeling position as his body falls over. 

"What the hell!?" The remaining rogue jumps away from me and pulls out a kunai to defend himself with. "A kid?" He blinks with confusion as I drop the giant rock in my hand, now covered in blood, onto the ground. "What the hell is a kid doing out here? Just what the hell do you think you're doing-" 

Before he could finish his sentence, I pounce on him and tackle him to the ground, then quickly snap his neck. I stand up and look at the lifeless body beneath me. 

I heard another noise in the forest, causing my eyes to snap toward the direction it was coming from. "Naruto! Get back here right now!" 

"Hahaha! You'll never catch me!" 

~Naruto's POV~ 

"Hahaha! You'll never catch me!" I laugh as I run into the forest with a grin on my face. I pulled another prank on Iruka-Sensei, and it was my best one yet! 

"Naruto!" I hid behind a tree as Iruka-Sensei runs pass me, causing me to snicker. I sighed to myself, relieved that I manage to get away, then saw a girl with long white hair with red bows, and red eyes. 

We made eye contact before the girl turned around and walked away. "Hey! Wait!" I shouted after her and chased her. 

She ran through the forest without looking back at me. But she was more jogging more than running. When I finally caught up to her, she had stopped running and turned to face me fully. 

When I caught my breath, I looked closer at the girl and saw that she was very pretty. Prettier than Sakura. But what was she doing out here? "Who are you? I don't think I've seen you around the village. What are you doing out here?" 

She didn't answer my question. Instead she continued to stare at me with her hands folded behind her back. "What's your name?" She snapped back as she glared with me. 

"I'm Naruto Uzumaki! Believe it!" 

"...Mokou Fujiwara." She introduced herself. Even her name is pretty. 

"What are you doing out here? The forest isn't the best place to be in, you know." 

"I live here." She replied with a blunt look. 

"You live here? In the forest?" Mokou was going to say something, but she looked to her left side as I heard my name being called out. 

"Naruto!" I turn around to see Iruka-Sensei catching up to me. "There you are, Naruto! You know you shouldn't run off on your own like that!" 

"It's not like I was hurting anyone! And I'm not on my own. I'm with Mokou!" I shout back. 

"Who's Mokou?" 

"She's standing right there-" I point to her, but nobody was there. Where did she go? She was right there. 

"Let's head back. The Hokage is going to be hearing about this." I'm dragged away by Iruka-Sensei, and I look back at where I had last saw Mokou. I know I saw her just now. Where did she go? Was I talking to a ghost or something? 

~Mokou's POV~

I watch as Naruto is dragged away by an older man as I sat in the tree. That's the first time a child had entered this forest. I think he's the same age as me. I've never met someone as young as me before. Where did he come from? What village was he talking about? 

"I don't think I've seen you around the village." 

There's a village nearby? I didn't know that. "Doesn't matter anyway." I turn my head and close my eyes as I said this. Besides... I open my eyes again, "I've got to get back to getting rid of those bodies."
