Chapt. 17: He's Back With Some Help

Fire danced on the palm of my hand as I stared at it for a good long while. We're still here in the Land of Waves and the bridge isn't even finished yet. This is becoming so tedious. 

"You're not going to hang out with your squad?" Yuuki questioned as he stood behind me while I was sitting down in the grass. 

"What's the point? Sasuke and Naruto are still training, Kakashi is still recovering, and Sakura is probably with Tazuna. I can't even call these people a squad." 

"Yeah, I know. So, do you think he's still out there? Zabuza?" 

"I know he's still out there. He's after the bridge builder after all. But I have a feeling he's going to bring help along with him." That boy earlier today... He sounded a lot like the fake tracking ninja. And he was collecting herbs that were for healing wounds. I bet he's working with Zabuza. "Let's head back, Yuuki." 

"Okay." He nodded and followed me back to the house. 

"Hey! What do you think!?" I turn my attention to Naruto when he started yelling. He finally made it up the tree, and he was hanging upside down. 

"He finally did it." Yuuki mentioned and I nodded, agreeing with him. 

"But how long can he stay like that?" I questioned and right on cue, Naruto's feet were no longer sticking to the branch. 

As he fell, I sprinted over to the tree and ran up the trunk, then grabbed Naruto as he was falling. I held him by his waist, putting him to my hip as I landed on the ground. 

"Are you alright?" I asked him while setting him down. 

"Y-Yeah. Thanks, Mokou. But I totally had it!" He laughed while placing his hand on the back of his head. 

"Wow. She did that so fast. I didn't even see her." Sakura said as I walked to the house. 

"It's called training. You should try it some time." I said while walking pass her. I knew it was going to piss her off. 

As the day went on, Sasuke and Naruto were still training. Still competing against each other of who can climb the highest. "Mokou, are you listening?" Kakashi calls out to me. 

"Hmm?" I turn to him with my head resting on my hand. "What?" 

"I said we'll be going with Tazuna tomorrow so he can get finished preparing the bridge." He says again. 

"Okay. And then we can go back to the village, right?" 

"Yes." 

"Finally." I yawn. I'm getting tired of being in the Land of Waves. I miss my home in the forest. When I go back I need to check on the house just in case any rouges have invaded it. And they did, I'll have to kill them...
