Chapter 37

Kace's Point of View

"Chantel!!" Paige Mom shouted her name but it seems like Paige purposely ignored it and ran away.

"That pesky woman!!!" She hissed and looked at her husband. "She was just shocked, Honey," Sir Cadrius said and continued looking for the files in front of me.

"I'll go follow her Tita," we all glanced at Vernon, when he stood up and asked Paige Mom. "Yeah, that's a great idea follow her Vernon," She said and nodded at him.

Vernon runs out of the office, I just watch him go outside before I focus on the files that Sir. Cadrius was talking about.

"Here it is!!! Here son, this is the files for the Noel's Essence company Cadmus will need to check this before he send one of our employees to Paris," He said and handed it to me with a genuine smile.

"I'll review the file Sir and let's the CEO check it," I said in a formal way, He nodded while smiling and tap my shoulder. "You're really capable of task Kace, my investment for you was all worth it Son," He said, I bow my head as a sign of respect.

"I'll be going Sir, Ma'am," I said. "How many times do I tell you to call me Tito you still call me Sir, young man," Sir Cadrious said.

"Sorry, Sir," I said and bowed again and this time, I took my way out of the office. As I held the door and was about to open it. "I'll be leaving too," Paige Mom said and stood up, held her purse, walked to her husband for a kiss and walked towards my place.

I immediately opened the door for her, "See you at the house Honey," Sir Cadrius said, Paige Mom just nodded and walked out of the office. "Sir," I said before I closed the door of the office.

When I was about to walk I instantly stopped when Paige Mom waited for me. "Can we talk? Kace" she said. At first I got shocked but I nodded at her, we walked to the hallway and she started speaking. "I know Chantel wasn't that close to you since she moved to France when you and my son graduated, right?" She said while walking straight and facing the way filled with sophistication.

"Yes, Ma'am," I answered. "But, I've noticed that she's been comfortable with you since we went back, and why is that?" she said and glanced at me.

"Maybe, it's because the CEO asked me to guide her sister around the company since she's new here," I feel uneasy by her question, knowing that I've been secretly dating her child that's why we're close.

"I see, that's great then I think it will be easy for you to do something for me," I looked at her when she said that. "What is it Ma'am?" I asked and kept walking beside her.

"As you can see, I want Vernon for my daughter not I'll ask you a favor. Ask my daughter to give Vernon a chance and help me get them together," I gulf and speak, "But Ma'am isn't it right to force her to this?"

"I'm not forcing her, that's why I'm asking you a favor because I want you to help Chantel to fall for Vernon," She said. "But M--------," she cut me off when I was about to talk again.

"My husband funded your financial needs and wants, also I'm one of the people who help you right? Without me and my permission you'll end up in the trash. This will be the first time I'll ask you to do something for me, so that I can see the worth of helping you," She straitly said and glanced at me.

What she said really hits me, she's right I don't have the rights to decline her favor. I owe them my life. I bowed my head at her and answer, "I'll do my best Ma'am,"

"Great, I'm looking forward to the success of my favor. Show me your worth so that I can tell your parents that they raise a good kid not a worthless one. And maybe I can ask my husband to give you a right amount of money if you succeed. That's what you need right money," she calmly but firmly said before she entered the elevator and left.

I bowed just to remain looking at the floor as the elevator door closes. When she's out I took a heavy breath before I walked to my place and started working.

As I walk at the hallway I saw the CEO walking while fixing his tie. "Kace where have you been? I didn't see you at your table, so I check my own schedule instead," He said. "I'm sorry Sir, Your father ask me to go to his room for these files," I said and slightly lift up the papers for him to see. 

"What's that for?" he ask and reach from me, read some of it's part and scan it. "It's the file for Noel's Essence Sir, He said that I should scan it and give it to you so you can finally decide who will you send to Paris, to handle the deal with Noel's," I explained what his father tell me and let him check it. 

"Ok," He said. "Do you have someone in mind that you'll send for the deal Sir?" I ask and look at him. "I know who will fit this deal and I'm surely he'll surely close this. It's Beltran and Minami Sienna. They'll close the deal," He confidently said and give the file back to me. 

I knew his right, Oliver is my friend and he'd been a great working ever since he started working here. Just like what the CEO believer's Oliver and Miss Minami will surely close the deal without problem. "Ok, scan it while I'm out," He said and fix his coat. "Where are you going this time, Sir," I ask. 

"Don't tell Dad, I'll e checking some of the new branch sites," He said, pat my shoulder, and quickly walked through the elevator. He always go out to check the sites when the fact is he don't really need to do that. "Ok, Sir," I whisper and go to my table to start my work. 

While working and scanning the file that Sir Cadrius gave me, I received a text message from Paige.

Love, I'm with Vernon he keeps following me. Don't worry I'll clear everything to him. That I just see him as a friend and there's no chances of us being together. You know where I belong right, see you at your pad later. Love you so much.

I sigh and whisper. "You don't belong to me, I guess.."
