Chapter 39

As I wake up, I quickly seek Kace's presence beside me in the bed. But he wasn't here. I instantly stood out of the bed and went straight to the bathroom to wash my face.

Maybe Love was already cooking breakfast outside. Then, suddenly I remembered that I already cooked something last night and he said that he was going to eat it this morning so I suppose he's not cooking. Baka nagkakape or iniinit niya na ang pagkain na niluto ko.

After washing my face and brush my teeth,naglakad ako palabas ng kwarto at nagtungo sa kusina para kay Kace. but I stop when I saw no one in the kitchen.

"Love?" I called his name out and tried to look for him around the pad. I check him in the closet and every side of the pad but he's not there. Where is he? I ask myself and go back to the bedroom. I was about to get my phone on the side table when I saw a small note under it. When I grab and read what it says I suddenly feel sad. 

Paige, I already left because Cad called me for an emergency meeting. Eat breakfast before you go to work.

That's it? No I love you? Nakakunot akong napaupo sa kama at binuksan ang phone ko. It's just 6:37 am, sobrang aga naman ata siyang pinatawag ni Kuya. Walang gana akong tumuloy sa kusina at tinignan ang niluto kong fillet sa fridge. Hindi man lang niya natikman. I put it in the oven and eat it after, while reading some of my paper works.

"I better text him," I whispered and quickly tested him.

Love, I just got up, you didn't eat breakfast because you go out so early, so I'll just bring breakfast to you.

Nakangiti ko itong sinend sa kanya at nagsimulang magpack ng fillet sa bento box dito sa kitchen. Dadalhan ko nalang siya at least matitikman niya parin ang luto ko. I'll take a quick shower after this and go to the company, hand him his breakfast and bring him coffee.

While I was enjoying packing his breakfast my phone rang and I just receive two messages. I check it and one is from my Mom then the other one is from Kace. I check Kace massage first,

From Love,

No, don't bother we've already eaten breakfast and I'm at the site.

My shoulder drops and suddenly my excitement disappears. Kace is in the new branch sites and it's too far for me to go there so I feel so upset. I won't be able to give him this. Kaya sinimulan ko ulit itong tanggalin sa bento box at kinain nalamang.

"It's ok I can just cook him later for dinner," I whisper and cheer myself up and eat a lot. My phone rings again, I remember Mom messaged me and I still didn't check it yet.

From Mom,

Go on ***** restaurant lunchtime.

I shook my head and ignored it, I prepared for work and wore a white paired formal female coat and shorts, also a black slick top underneath the coat. I wore a few gold necklaces and rings so it would spice my OOTD for today.

"I'll go with smoky," I whisper and face the large mirror here inside the bathroom. I put on some make-up and curl my hair a bit so it would turn out wavey.

While preparing I still feel uneasy thinking that Kace was so busy and didn't have time with me. I'm worried about him so much, I wanna hug him so tight, kiss him but he's still busy so I'll keep understanding.

I know how pressured he is in his life and work and I don't want him to suffer more if I think about my personal need. I can deal with missing him instead of pressuring him and making him feel stressed. Pagpasok ko sa opisina agad akong tinambakan ng trabaho, dahil marami kaming ni reready na media plan for the new issues of perfume so I had so many work here also.

But even though I have a lot of things to do I can't help missing my boyfriend. I haven't seen him for almost half a day. I miss him already.  Tried to text him every hour that passed by but we weren't replying and also his phone was off. I couldn't even call him.

"Miss Chantel," napatingin ako sa pinto ng opisina ko ng kumatok ang isang assistant ko.

"Yes?" I ask. "Mr. Vernon is outside, he said he had lunch with you," She gently said and looked straight to my place. "But, I don't remember any dinner with him, tell him I had a lot of things to do ok," I said and she nodded.

Mga ilang saglit lang ay bumalik ulit siya at sinabi, "Ma'am, Sir Vernon said he will not leave until you agreed also didn't Ma'am Vivian imford you daw po about this" magalang nitong sambit.

Realization hits me, so it's a setup again. She just texted me and asked me for lunch because of Vernon. "Tell him I'm busy and tell him to wait till he quits," I firmly said and focus on my work again.

I didn't eat lunch because I knew that he was waiting outside, and still I still feel full because I ate a lot of breakfast at Kace pad. Natapos ko ang trabaho ko buong araw at agad ko ring kinuha ang mga gamit ko dahil kailangan kong lutuan si Kace ng dinner.

Paglabas ko ng office agad kong nakasalubong yong staff here in Media dept. "Ma'am, Sir Vernon already left after he fell asleep waiting for you," I smirk and say, "Great, I'll go ahead" I said and walked to the elevator. Pagbaba ko sa lobby ng kumpanya nakasalubong ko ang isa sa friend ni Kuya.

"Atty. Austine you here!" I greeted him, he smirked and nodded his head before he spoke. "Delavine, it's good to see you again," he gently said and smiled like he always does.

"Why are you here Atty. Austine?" I ask and keep smiling at him, he is a good friend of my brother. "I'm here to meet my cousin Beltran and also I have a meeting with your brother this evening," He said, I stopped when he said he has what? Meeting with my brother but they're on the site.

"What, my brother is not here?" I said, "No, he just texted me that he was in his office the whole day how come he's not here?" he said. What!!! "I better go now you know your brother he doesn't want late people, see you when I see you," He said and walked past me.

I was left dumbfounded, still didn't have an idea or a clear mind. My brother is here? But I thought he and Kace were at the site because that's what Kace said.

Wala sa sarili akong naglakad palabas ng company at sumakay ng taxi papunta sa pad ni Kace. dumating ako doon ng wala pa ring tao, I decided to cook even though my mind are still not working. "Ow!! Shocks!" I haze nang napaso ako ng pan. "It leads mark, shit!" I whisper when my skin gets burned a little bit and it leaves dark marks.

Patuloy ang paghapdi nito hanggang sa natapos akong magluto at maghain ng pagkain sa lamesa. I sat and waited for him here at the dining table and after a few minutes the door opened and Kace showed up.

"Love," I said and walked towards him, gave him a peck of a kiss, and pulled him here at the dining table. "Did you drive Kuya home?" I try to ask and I feel nervous as we both sit at the dining table.

I hope he wouldn't do such a thing as lying to me, please. I silently pray. "Yeah," bagsak balikat akong napatingin sakanya dahil sa sinagot niya, he was busy put food on his plate that's why he didn't notice my reaction. Love why are you lying?

I try to act normal and let it pass by laughing and opening new topics. "Mom texted me, and she's still pushing me to Vernon!" nakasimangot kong sambit at hinihintay ang sasabihin niya.

I was expecting him to be jealous like what he did last time but what he said was really unexpected. "Why not try dating him?" what!!!
