Chapter 46

2 months later, Knock knock, I slowly move from the cover of my comforter and glance at the door of my room. I slowly wipe my eyes because it has a few dry tears on the side that make it hard to open my eyes properly.

"Chantel?" I heard my brother's voice outside the door so I slowly sat on the bed and stood up to open the door for him.

When I opened it and just took a glimpse of him, He stare seriously at me and waited for me to open the door widely. I move to the side and open it widely for him to enter my room. Kuya brought food inside and put it down on my side table.

"I just got here after a trip and the first thing I heard is that you still didn't eat properly since that day happened," He said and sat on the bed. "Do you have any idea where Kace goes Kuya?" I ask desperately at him and stand in front of him.

"That's not what I ask Chantel," he said. Tears started to fall from my eyes again, "Kuya please tell me you already found him Kuya please," I instantly kneel in front of him and held his hand.

Kuya sighs and, "No lead, I already hired three detectives to find him around the world but they couldn't find any signs of him, but can we please talk about you, take care of yourself Chantel look at you, you're getting thinner and thinner," Kuya said.

I avoided his gaze and spoke, "If only Mom didn't lock me here in my room, I can look for Kace on my own" I said it with anger and remembered that day. 

"Chantel," I looked at Kace's door when my brother showed up and ran to me. I burst out when he's in front of me. "Kuya" I called him and hugged him so tight.

"Kace left, he's gone. I can't find him Kuya. I need to see him please Kuya" He hugged me back and rubbed my back while I cried in his arms.

My heart is breaking so hard and it tears me apart knowing that my Man left without a word.

"Shhhh Let's go home" He said and carry me, "Kuya I need to find him Kuya, I can't leave here baka bumalik siya Kuya. Kailangan ko siyang makita, I will wait for him here please Kuya I need to see him, he needs me at his side same as I do Kuya please," I beg him to put me down and let me stay here because I know Kace will come back.

"I will find him ok, but now we need to go home please stop crying," Kuya gently said and make me lean on his chest and started walking, I had no choice but to cry on his arms, hindi na rin naman ako makapanlaban dahil nanghihina ako sa sobrang sakit ng puso ko.

"Wait for me at the office," Kuya speak when he was walking so I took a glance at the person he was talking about and I saw Alliana, Aberry's cousin she's walking behind us and her face was so much worry when she looked at me, but I was filled with mix emotion right now and I feel so embarrassed her seeing me like this.

I hid my face on my brother's chest and I heard her speak, "Y-yes Sir," she said and went separate ways with me.

Kuya brought me in his Mustang and gently put me inside the shotgun seat and went inside the driver side, started the engine and handed me a bottle of water. Tinaggap ko ito pero hindi ko ininom, nanatali lang akong tulala at patuloy na lumuluha habang nakatanaw sa bintana.

Kuya remains silent while driving and when we reach our house he guides me on walking inside the house because my feet and knees feel so weak.

As we opened the door we saw Mom sitting on the couch while drinking her coffee and looking at me, "What did you get Chantel?" she said in a tone of sarcasm.

I just stared at her while Kuya was holding me, "There are some love and feelings that weren't worth fighting for my dear child, look what happened to you? The Man that you fight for just leaves you without a word, the man that you are willing to sacrifice your family just to be with him just leaves you, are you regretting it all now?" She raises her right brow while she asks me that, but I firmly look at him and speak fearlessly.

"No, I won't ever regret loving Kace and you can't change that."

"If only you choose Vernon over that trash then your life wouldn't be this hard and you won't disappoint me" she stood up and walked towards our place and fixed the strand of hairs on my face and she smirked.

I push her hands away and darkly look at her, "I don't fucking care about your feelings anymore, Mom!!! I don't care if I disappointed you again this time, all my life I spend it fulfilling your desires and decision. I don't even get a chance to choose, what I really want because of you, I have let you control my life for almost 21 years, and inside those 21 years, have you ever asked me about what I really want to do?! No, you never fucking did because you don't treat me as your child, you just see me as your toy. This is enough---," One hard slap hits my face and Mom's anger surrounds the whole house.

"How dare you speak to me like that, after I make your life better!!!" She madly said and pushed my shoulder a bit. "Better?! You just make it harder for me mom!!! When we were in France did you ever ask me if I can study both courses at the same time?!?! No, you didn't care, you didn't ask and you just force me to do it, even if it kills me already, I was studying and working at the same time.. is that what you call better? Fuck your definition of better, Mom!!!" I shouted and cried, even more, the pain in my chest doubled because of all the hardship I've been through all this year.

"No one fucking ask, no one fucking ask me if I'm ok if I'm doing ok, no one Mom!!!" I shouted, "How dare you-------,"

"Fucking stop mom!!!" Mom wasn't able to finish what she was going to say and wouldn't be able to slap me when Kuya shouted and caught her hand. "C-Cadmus," Mom utters his name, Kuya forcibly lets go of Mom and looks at me, "Let's go upstairs," Kuya gently said and guided me up the stairs and left Mom stiffed.

He brought me to my room and let me lay on the bed, I continued crying so he wiped my tears. "I will find him Ok, for now, take a rest" he whispers and kisses my forehead. "I have a 2 months business trip, I'll be leaving tomorrow, but I'll promise I will find him ok. Take care of yourself," He said before he left me and closed the door of my room.

"Where are you Love?" I whisper before I close my eyes and fall asleep. After that, I wake up and remain laying on the bed for a few hours, but when I realize that I'm wasting time, I should be out finding Kace instead.

I stood up and went straight to the door but It was locked, "What?" I whisper and try everything to open it but it's clearly locked.

You gotta be kidding me! "Mom, don't lock me here!!!!" I shouted and heard a footstep outside. "I won't let you ruin your life finding that Man Chantel, I'm doing this for you," I heard Mom say.

"No mom! Please let me go!!! Mom, please let me go!!! Mom, please I'm begging you open this door now!!!"  I shouted all out.

"This is for you Chantel," I heard her say and leave, I panic and hit the door hard, "No mom, mom don't leave, open the door, you can't do this to me!!! Dad!! Kuya!!! Open the door, please!" I shouted but I remember Kuya has a business trip and so does Dad.

Starting that day I was locked in my room and they just delivered food, but I would not eat it.

"I'm sorry I wasn't there," Kuya whispered and pulled me for a hug. "Kuya please help me find hi----," I stop and quickly run to the bathroom and puke.

"Chantel!!!!" Kuya followed me inside and rubbed my back, "What's this?" he asked confusedly. I look at him and slowly wipe my lips, "I don't know," I whisper. "Are you fucking pregnant?"
