36. Finishing Statement

A/N: A start and end of chapter announcement.. that's because this is the last chapter of the main story! The end of chapter announcement explains a bit more.. but get ready for a lot of flashbacks and an ending that hopefully makes sense :)

Previously (Toni's POV): "Then don't say anything." Penelope Blossom stated
"Mother?" Cheryl questioned
"Yes. Now follow me or so help your friends. You both should know exactly what I'm talking about." Penelope instructed.
Cheryl and I looked at eachother. I saw the look of worry in her eyes and realised what her mother meant.

Cheryl's POV:
My mother lead Toni and I into Thistlehouse, more specifically the open area around the entrance and stairs. Following behind us Veronica, Betty, Fangs, Sweetpea & Josie also came in behind us. My mother just rolled her eyes. Reggie was also there, standing on the side in the middle of both groups.
"Of course they would follow you two." She said, clearly annoyed
"Yeah well actually it's because-" I was interrupted by Toni pulling me into a short, passionate kiss. Everyone except my mother faked being shocked, hers was genuine.
"Because that" I finished

"What?" She questioned, looking super confused
We all then laughed at her response and returned to our normal expressions.
"Mother, may as well disconnect both Cheryl's and my hearing device now." Toni said
"But you have to remember. I've still got your friends." She smiled devilishly
"Oh really?" I said with a smirk

Just then Kevin and Archie pulled got out of a brown truck amongst the many cars in the driveway.
"Heyy" Kevin wiggled his finger for a wave

"But.. Reginald said they were with you a week ago?" My mother furrowed her eyebrows and held her head slightly down
"Well, you see I lied." Reggie moved closer towards our group.
"That still doesn't explain how they are here?" She replied
"Your mistake was leaving me to see them. Of course I couldn't tell them that verbally otherwise you would hear. But, I wrote it down. I think you might've forgotten that a hidden camera in my phone would've been smarter." Toni clapped back

Veronica's POV:
(Chapter 27)
"So where are Betty, Toni & Cheryl going?" I asked
"I don't know. Just to some random places to fake it for the listening devices." Fangs answered
"Alright so we're arriving at the house now" Betty pulled up at the party house
"You're sure Toni said they're here?" I questioned, just to make sure
"Yeah, let's just go in." Fangs said
As we walked into the basement we see Kevin and Archie, who look somewhat healthy but barely. We turn around to see Reggie, who immediately shushes us and whispers his begs for forgiveness. Saying he needed the money desperately so he could get out of his abusive household, he untied them and helped us out of there and warned us that other Ghoulies were coming soon but it was either one of two groups. One, which like Reggie didn't agree but needed the cash. Or two, just a scumbag Ghoulie. And luckily we got out before we could find out.

Cheryl's POV:
"So that's why at the party Moose hosted Reggie didn't try to spike my drink like you asked." I smiled at my mother
"Well.. what about you two?" She pointed at Toni and I
"Once you dragged me out of the house that day I had already predicted you would do this since you faked your little acceptance, so Kevin told me about this place where they do gay conversion therapy. I did a little more research and found out it's actually an orphanage with secret conversion therapy! Then I found out you went there as an orphan! So I thought you definitely would've taken me, and I was right. The listening devices weren't expected I have to admit, but like I said it's one simple look at the leg and you see mine. Toni's was also pretty obvious, her ear." I explained
"We also had to fake the search for Archie and Kevin, Cheryl and I would obviously gladly be together but in order for someone to successfully rescue Kevin & Archie we had to make sure you couldn't hear it. Which is why we faked our stressed reactions after hearing they hadn't been found." Toni finished
"Could I do the rest?" Jughead asked
"Sure. We barely told him anything by the ways" Toni answered
"Alright cool." Jughead smiled and began
"I heard Kevin, say something about a conversation. After learning more that phonecall it was Cheryl telling Toni that she thought she was going to the sisters."
