5. Southside Serpents (The Gang, Not The Football Team)

Toni's POV:
"Tiny! I need your help" Fangs called out
"What is it Fangs?" I asked
"Something about a relationship, could you set me up with a girl by the way?" Sweetpea responded
"Maybe later, you should find one yourself so I don't have to pretend to be your girlfriend to get you out of it again. Anyways continue Fangs" I said
"So I've been talking to this guy.."
"Kevin. I know" I laughed
"Assuming Betty or Red told you that?" Fangs replied
"Yeah Cheryl told me" I responded
"Right. Your crush or whatever." Fangs said and I rolled my eyes "Anyways, I was thinking of asking him to meet up with me at Pops or something.. Maybe like a date or maybe just to talk but I don't know." Fangs stated
"Ooh yes! Definitely ask him on a date. Cheryl's told me before how much he smiles when talking to you, I'm sure he'll love it!" I replied with excited
"Go for it bro. If he's the one for you better snag him before anyone else can" Sweetpea said
"He's not a on-sale clothing item to be snagged" Fangs responded, mocking Sweetpea's voice when saying snagged. "He's a human and I don't want him to get the wrong idea" Sweetpea stated
"And apparently I'm the softie" I said sarcastically
"Well Sweetpea is partially right, just go for it." Jughead chimes into the conversation, I forgot he was here to be honest. He was usually so talkative but he was being fairly silent, probably planning something.
"Alright I'll do it." Fangs replied and we all smiled

Fangs was one of my bestfriends. We've known each other since I was 13 and my uncle took me into the serpents. Same goes with Jughead and Sweetpea. My mother died when I was 12 and I never knew my father. My mother said he used to be a kind person but then drugs got the better of him, she probably shouldn't have told me that considering I was 10 but it makes more sense now. My uncle was also abusive and when I told him I was bisexual he kicked me out and just left me with the Serpents. I'm glad he did though, anything would have been better then the treatment he gave me. One accidental knock of a glass and I get a trip to the hospital. The serpents were the closest thing I've had to a family since my mum.

The next day
(Before is what happened with the serpents at the time of the hallway discussion from the previous chapter)

I was abruptly awoken by Jughead pouring water all over my face.
"Toni you're going to miss Fangs asking out Kevin if you don't wake up" he said
"Okay I'm up, and is he like going after school or something?" I replied with a yawn
"No. We're going to go during lunch. Do you wanna come?" Jug asked
"Well even if we leave early we'll probably just spend the whole lunch driving there. So we'd have to go like 20 minutes before." I said
"Oh yeah true. I'll tell Fangs." he responded
"Wait. Since when did you care about relationships this much?" I asked.
"I don't, it's just Kevin is a good friend of mine and Betty's and Fangs is one of my best friends. It's a good pair" Jughead answered and I just nodded.

We arrived at school as a member of the Ghoulies approached me.
"Poison." She stated.
This either meant one of two things in Southside High, a fist fight to challenge the HBIC or to get their name on the list for cheer team tryouts. By her facial expression and the fact that tryouts weren't open I knew she wanted a fight.
"Bring it." I replied
She fit me right in the nose, catching me by surprise. "Pfft. Are the Ghoulies getting weaker as the generations continue?" I scoffed back
"Atleast were continuing the tradition unlike you snakes. You let anyone in, regardless if they're legacy or not. Just because they want a family you shouldn't get to be the chance to provide them your lame atte-" she was cut off by my fist hitting her straight in the gut as she fell. She was weaker then I thought, the Ghoulies probably had wrote that whole script. I usually punched them straight away but I wanted to hear it for once. I might be short but I can throw a good punch, that proves it.
"Tiny wins again. Not surprised!" Sweetpea shouted
"I'm HBIC for a reason" I winked at the girl on the floor. Offering her a hand to get back up, but of course.. taking it back once she reached for it.

20 minutes before lunch

"Let's go!" I shouted, running out of the school. We had skipped before but this time it was actually for something. The drive was filled with laughs and occasionally Fangs looking for reassurance. Once we finally reached the entrance Fangs ran over to Kevin's locker with us following, attracting an audience.
"Ooh look it's Kevin's Prince Charming and his friends" Cheryl said to Kevin
"Fangs?! Hi!" Kevin replied
"Hi Kevin, so as you know we've been talking for what.. 3 days now?" Fangs said
"Nonstop." Kevin laughed "Have I done something wrong?" Kevin asked, a little confused.
"No! You've done right! Really good actually." Fangs assured him "So.." he pointed at Jughead, Sweetpea and I and we held up the letters "P-OP-S?" seperate as Fangs held a bunch of flowers. "Maybe as a date or maybe just as friends either way I'm fine, I know we might be rushing it but this could be a way to get to know you better? Slowly?"
"Oh my god yes!" Kevin screamed and grabbed the flowers, then threw them right at a redheadded boy behind him. Hitting him right in the face the boy caught them and smiled at Kevin.
"Chill Kevin, you make it seem like her proposed" Cheryl said and everyone laughed
"I'll take the flowers back now Archie, sorry for hitting your face with them by the way" Kevin laughed
"As long as it's for good reason, and this sure was!" Archie laughed back passing him the flowers
"I'll see you tomorrow at 8?" Fangs winked
"It's a date." Kevin replied back

"Well that was a nice afternoon drama" I heard Cheryl say and I walked over "Oh! Hey Toni." She said gasping when saying oh. I guess I surprised her?
"Hey Cheryl, do you think that was a good one?" I asked
"Never seen a date-posal but if they're like that then yes, it was great." She replied
"They make a really great couple. Unexpected, but great." I said
"Totally agree. Never thought I'd see another relationship crossing sides apart from Jughead and Betty. But Jughead was here previously so that's still not fully crossed!" She answered
"So is Kevin like.. one of your best friends?" I asked
"Yeah. I'm guessing Fangs is one of yours?" she responded
"Yup. What do you say we.. listen in. On their date" I proposed the idea
"Definitely! Would get some super funny quotes out of it. Plus I probably don't have anything better to do" she said
"Well let's do it. Two HBIC's with nothing to do. Who would've thought" I laughed "You can invite your redhead friend too if you want."
"I'll ask him. See you then Toni" Cheryl responded
"See ya." I exchanged goodbyes as Jughead, Sweetpea, a very excited Fangs and I walked out of the large doors of Riverdale High. Maybe I finally was tearing down the heavy defences of Cheryl Blossom.

A/N: End of chapter announcement (yEah!) I realised there wasn't much Choni rather Kevin and Fangs so I added that in there! I wasn't planning to write about the date but now I will for a little Choni spy mission. I'll start writing that now so see you soon!
