Little did Lisa know, Jennie is staring through the window pane. Lisa stop and look back to her direction. Jennie got startle and quickly hide behind the thick curtain and heave a sigh. She quietly walk to the kitchen area and gulp down the remaining wine she left there. She touch the pendant hanging on her neck and squeeze her eyes shut.
- FOURTEEN YEARS AGO -
Jennie's PoV
My name is Jennie Ruby Jane Kim, fourteen years old. I was born in Seoul. I have a big brother his name is Woobin, he's seven years older and currently studying in Philippines. Most of his friends are there too, he said to me that studying there is cheaper but with high quality education and said if I want to learn english fast, one of the best option is to study there. He comes home during semestral break and tells me stories about what's happening with him there. So yeah, I'm planning to take my bachelor's degree there someday too.
It's been five years since I and my family moved out of the city. We are currently living in a countryside, a small town in Busan.
Honestly, I had a hard time during my first year living here, because of the differences. Luckily I'm a fast-learner and adaptable person. I'm now in my sophomore year in Hawkdale highschool. I'm peacefully walking towards the gate of our school-
"Jennieeee!" I turn around and see three girls shouting in unison running like someone's going to kidnap them then immediately hug me.
"Hey stop it!" I groan "It's like we haven't seen each other for such a long time." I say while catching my breath from their tight hug. They are my best friends. Rosé, Irene and Wendy. They helped me when I was just a new student in this school. We got along pretty well and now we are inseparable.
They pull away and pouts while glaring at me. I show the bestest version of my gummy smile, raising both of my hands to make a peace sign. What I said was a fact, even though we were on our school break, we still see each other to have bond together.
We walk happily inside the classroom and take our seats while waiting for our homeroom teacher.
"Jennie, I heard from the others that there's a foreign student, said she's Thai." Irene says not looking at me because she's busy writing on her notebook.
"Oh really?" I reply bluntly because I'm also busy doing an advance reading.
"Someone saw her when she was enrolling last week.. they said she's tall and handsomely beautiful." Rosé cuts in while munching her food but she immediately hides it inside her bag.
I look at her, furrowing my brows but quickly interrupted when our teacher came inside followed by a person of what Rosé described a while ago. She's tall, her dark brown hair and full bangs perfectly fits on her face. I stare in her doe eyes, she shows no emotion, it looks empty and her plump lips forms into straight line. She's not yet wearing our uniform. She wears a gray hoody, a black jeans and a pair of black converse. Her Black and yellow Jansport bag hangs on her left shoulder while standing beside our teacher.
Wow.
The noises inside the room suddenly disappear. Everyone became silent while looking at the front.
"Good morning class. How's your school break?" The homeroom teacher ask while smiling politely looking at each and every student in our room.
"Good morning Ms. Dara Park." Everyone stands to greet her.
"Too short." some student groans.
"We still want to take a vacation Ms. Park." some blurts out."Okay, okay. Calm down kids." gesturing her hand for us to take our seats. "Really? Well, let's be happy that you're already in your junior year now. Congratulations." She smiles. "And by the way, there's a new face who I would like to introduce to you, since all of you already know each other. Kindly introduce yourself please." Ms. Park look beside her and gave a hand signal to the girl standing next to her.
