STILL THE BACK STORY..
Jennie's PoV
One week has gone by since the school year started. And it's been a week since I secretly observing our new classmate. She shows up and disappear like a mushroom in our room whenever she wants. I guess she likes ditching her classes, which will surely be a mess sooner or later if she constantly do that. But the good news; she improved herself talking with others. She would talk when the teacher calls her. Actually she would only talk when it's necessary. Nothing more.
At least she talk, right?
But despite of her unlikely action towards everyone, this girl is.. well a chic magnet. Most of the girls in our campus from lower to upper batches wants to flirt with her, they're drooling everytime she passes by. Well honestly, I couldn't deny that, her feature screams how gorgeous she is.
*Knock knock knock
"Jennie, are you awake?" I hear my mom's voice outside of my room.
"Yes mom! I'll prepare and come down after I get dressed!" A hoarse shout came out of my mouth while burying myself in my bed.
"Okay, be fast or else you'll be late."
I force myself to look at the side table to check the time. "Mom I still have an hour." I complain. I hear her distinct chattering but later disappear.
After half an hour of preparing and getting dressed in my uniform I quietly walk downstairs.
"Good morning!" I greet my parents cheerfully. I walk towards dad and kiss his cheek.
"Good morning baby." Dad put his newspaper down on his side to look at me and smile.
"Baby I prepared you a sandwich for lunch. It's on the counter table." Mom barge in carrying a plate of pancakes and sat on her chair. I approach to give her a kiss too.
"Thank you mom." I smile sweetly and join them on the table. I put some bacons, pancakes and eggs on my plate.
"So how's school?" My dad ask as he took a sip of his coffee.
"All good dad." I smile.
He nods and clear his throat "Are you and Kai still together? It's been a while since I saw him." I can sense my dad's hesitation with his inquiries, no curiousity.
My smile drops and suddenly lose my appetite when dad mentioned my ex's name. I haven't told them about our break up, but maybe it's the right time for them to know. A tight smile form on my lips and look at my parents.
"We.. uhmm. We broke up." I say sounding not affected, as if it's not a big deal for me. I dig on my food while they look at me with concern? Worry? Pity? I can't tell.
"Oh baby." My mom gasps for air and quickly holds my hand across the table "I'm sorry to hear that." She sigh. My dad opens his mouth but close it again.
"Don't worry, It's fine. It's a mutual decision." I lie, I hate lying to them but seeing them sad because of me, I have no choice but to show them how strong I can be in terms of this kind of situation. Or should I say how good I am at pretending I was fine.
"If you need someone to talk with.. Please baby don't hesitate to approach me." My mom offers.
"Yes mom. Thank you." I cheerfully say and show my gummy smile. I secretly observe my dad, his mood changes and doesn't talk anymore. Silence slowly enveloping our surrounding. I immediately finish my food and drink my juice. "I won't wait for the school bus, I need to go now." I fastly say and gave both my parents some kisses and a tight hug. I just want to escape, not wanting to here anymore questions or worst complain.
