STILL THE BACK STORY..
Jennie's PoV:
My mind floods with all the memories from yesterday. I never thought of all people who would've seen me in an embarrassing moment, Lisa was the one who witnessed it. And I still can't believe that she helped me yesterday. She's quite kind than what people think she is. But when we got to school she starts ignoring me again. What is wrong with her? I thought that, that's the start of something.. something like.. friendship?
Should I give something? Or talk to her at least? I don't know but I wanted to show how grateful I am for what she had done to me.
"Jennie." Someone calls me.
"Jennie, penny for your thoughts?"
"Huh?" I quickly look at the person beside me.
"Are you okay?" Chaeng asks with furrow brows as she lightly squeeze my arm to get my attention.
"Uhm yes. I'm just.. sleepy." I lie.
She nod and smile "Okay, I'm just going to the restroom while we're still waiting for our second class. Our teacher's late again. Wanna come?"
"No, I'm good here." I shake my head.
"I'll ask Wendy and Irene then." She stands and approach the two, which agrees and follows her, they all walk out of the room.
Fidgeting on my desk unconsciously, I sigh. I slowly turn behind to glance at Lisa. I got startle when I see her doe eyes intently staring at me as if she's expecting that I will look at her. She's not breaking her eye contact with me. I get anxious and quickly turn my back to her. But I heard her chair moved. When I look back, she's already walking through the doorway, holding her bag, and the other hand shove inside her pocket. I don't know what's gotten to me, but my feet betrayed me as I found myself following her.
"What?" She ask as she turn around to look at me. I didn't notice that we already left our building.
"I'm sorry if I'm invading your space, but I just wanted to say thank you, about yesterday." I smile, an awkward smile.
"You already thanked me yesterday. But your welcome by the way." She flatly say then turn her back. "So stop following me now." Her voice turns cold. I frown. But still, I silently followed her footsteps.
We're currently at the back of our gymnasium. She wear the straps of her bag on both side of her shoulder, taking few steps back while facing the wall then run forward with force as she jump to climb it up. This is bad, she's going to ditch her class again. I hurriedly grab her left foot when she's nearly at the top.
"Jennie what are you doing?" She got startle with my sudden action.
"I can't let you just walk away from me." I say through gritted teeth while gripping tightly on her foot.
"Let go." She groan and wiggle a bit.
"No." I resist. "Unless you let me come with you." I add. I got surprise with my impulsive mind, why did I said that? I was supposed to stop her.
"What? No." She got caught up too. Until we heard a deep voice.
"You two stop!" The guard who stands farther from us shouts in our direction.
Lisa and I both look at each other with wide eyes.
"Lisa you have seconds to decide before the guard reach us." I fastly say not breaking my eye contact with her.
She contemplate and heave a sigh "Shit. Okay." She says in defeat and I let go of her foot, she groan and jump back to me then quickly bends down.
"Step on my shoulder!"
