STILL THE BACK STORY..
Jennie's PoV
It's been a week since I and Lisa's transgression happened. I remember her coming back in our room exhausted. Her hair disheveled, she was breathing heavily. But she was already wearing a clean white shirt and in her hand was her uniform damped with her own sweats from the fifty-lap ran she made in the field. I approached and gave her a bottled water, of course she declined. I asked why she did that. Unfortunately she never answered and ignored me like I'm sort of an oxygen. I didn't pry more and let her, perhaps I made her upset, that made me felt even more guilty.
Now, she's totally avoiding me. It's like I never exist. She neither dare talk everytime I approach nor gaze a bit at me. I don't know what to feel. Hurt? Mad? Sad? Worry? I'm perplexed. She literally shut everyone out, including me. Why Lisa?
"Jen are you okay?"
I look at Chaeng beside me, everyone at our table stares at me, frowning. The food in front of me didn't please my appetite. I groan internally for drifting away from my thoughts again.
"You haven't touched your food." Irene says across the table while munching.
"Is it still because of what happened?" Wendy ask beside Irene.
I shake my head and smile at them. "I'm just thinking about my upcoming reports, I haven't started anything." I frown to act, blocking the truth.
"Liar." Irene says with a deadpan face. "I think it's best if you keep your distance with her.. I don't think she cares anyway."
"And she's.. a trouble." Wendy adds, the last word almost a whisper.
There are speculation that Lisa has friends outside the school, mobsters from other side of the town. Which frighten the students to her.
"I don't think Lisa would do that on purpose after Jennie and her had a.. what should I call this" Chaeng contemplates first "..a thing? I mean, they literally went out on a date. There might be some sort of reasons." She tries to defend.
"Jen do you consider that as a date?" Wendy asks.
"I don't know." I answer.
"Jennie, you are confused because she's giving you mixed signals." Chaeng nudge my shoulder against her.
"It's too soon guys. I actually pushed myself to come along with her, remember?" I chuckle trying to remind them. I told them every single thing that happened that day.
"Because you like her Jennie." Chaeng smirk and I tweak her arm to lower her voice. They all laugh, taunting me.
"Lisa is hot but she's an asshole." Irene says, her eyebrows crease in annoyance.
"No- yeah, but each of us have our own flaws, hers are just.. too much. Too peculiar." Chaeng counter back and look at me like I should agree. But I remain quiet.
"But-"
"Okay girls that's enough." I butt in cheerfully I don't want them to argue anymore, especially since they're getting a lot of attentions from the crowd. I innocently look back and forth. They all stop and purse their lips. "Let's just not talk about her." I almost whisper the words and force a smile while picking the fries on my plate. They all nod to agree and I'm thankful for them not pushing the subject. I secretly wander my eyes around the cafeteria and my eyes widen.
Lisa appears at the front door with her infamous grumpy face. Everyone look puzzled, some are literally avoid her direction, others are murmuring to each other about the new kid they rarely see inside the cafeteria with loaded of students. Lisa on the other hand is unbothered by the stares she's been facing who she knows either checking her out or gossiping why she's here.
