Mers POV;
"Oh come on!" I honked my horn at the half asleep 90 year old in front of me, I had freaking lives to save! And I'm already 20 minutes late.

I looked around and saw a shortcut so I guess I'll try that way. I flipped the lady off before switching lanes. This road was a lot quieter, and had beautiful views. I could even see our house in the woods. I smiled at all the memories and then came to a stop at a red light. "Ya thanks god!" I stared up at the ceiling of my car in anger. Finally after what felt like hours the light turned green. I raced down the road, it had a lot of curves in it so I made sure to be careful.

I turned on some tunes and patted me hand on the steering wheel to the beat. I can't remember what I got distracted by, it was an animal like a deer or something in the woods. I don't get to see a lot of wildlife anymore so this was pretty cool. I pulled my car over and took a picture to send to Derek. I set my phone down and started to pull out when somebody called me, I stopped my car knowing I was on the side of the shoulder and I had to be quick.

I could t find me phone, it was jammed in between the seats... and then I looked over, "BAM!"...

Bailey POV:
"Where the hell is grey! She's 40 minutes late!" I cursed around the ER desperate to find my attending. "She's right here!" A man called out from the doors of the trauma center. He was wheeling a woman on a gurney and it only took me seconds to realize who it was.

"32 year old female, t-boned by an 18 wheeler. Car was hanging off a cliff. Multiple head injuries, bruised abdomen. And a shattered leg." I stood there in shock of my fellow, "ok trauma 2 and page neuro immediately!"

Meredith POV:
Sometimes things don't always go the way you want them too...

I gasped for air regaining consciousness, I looked around and saw nothing but trees, and woods. I wanted to scream... but I couldn't. My breathing felt slow and breathless, I looked up and saw sky. It brought back memories of the plane crash. The woods. The dark. Except this time I was alone. And I sucked.

"Ma'am!" I heard a voice outside my window that didn't sound familiar. "Oh my god! It's ok I'm calling 911" the man disappeared before I was knocked out again. I woke up in a hospital with doctors and nurses everywhere and that when it hit me, I was dying... no stop thinking that! Think of Harper, Derek, and my family at the hospital.

"Grey! You don't die! Do you hear me?!" Yes I can hear you but I can't talk. "Ok unresponsive! Where the hell is neuro!" That's my husband, he's at home with the baby. Get Nelson, anybody just don't let me die. "I'm here!" A man came racing through the door. It was Derek but he didn't know the patient was me. "Ok, Derek I need you to stay professional" I saw Bailey hold his shoulders and look into his eyes. "I am, now let me see the patient" he pushed through her confused on why she had said those words to him.

"Hi I'm doctor shep-" he was sitting on the chair next to my head when he realized it was me. I looked at him with tears in my eyes and used all the strength I had to grasp his lab coat. "Mer..." his voice was filled with shock and sadness. His eyes started to tear up as my eyes shut for the last time...

Derek POV:
"Get her up to head CT now!" I ordered, they all looked at me before rushing her out of the room, before I left I fell to the ground. "DAMMIT!" I kicked the sterile supplies around the room before following them upstairs.

Meredith POV:
Cold... I'm so very cold.

I could hear everything around me, the chaos, the elevator, the crying. I could hear it all. The only problem was that I couldn't respond to anything at all. They opened the room to the CT scanner, I remember every little sound that machine makes. I could feel Derek holding my hand as his tears fell on my skin like rain drops. "Please don't die mer! I love you, ok do you hear me? I love you. And Harper loves you so don't give up! You fight! Your Meredith Grey!" My hand was pressed up against his lips as he whispered those words to me.
