Why, why is everything wrong right now?
I, I feel so alive right now
Why, why is everything falling down?
I, I feel so alive right now (Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh)
I feel like a god right now

Finley

As soon as he said the word 'go,' my feet were maneuvering the clutch and gas pedals, and my eyes were flitting to watch the car shift into a higher gear.

The shrill sound of sports cars humming reverberated inside my helmet.

My body was forced back against the hard racing seats from the G-force, but I managed to keep my head steady despite the immense amount of pressure being applied against it.

I was behind a satin matte light blue Koenigsegg Regara, which was one of my favorite exotic cars, but I was far too busy trying to pass it to be able to admire it...that would have to wait until after I had won the race.

"Alright, Finn, you're coming up on the first turn, looks like there's gonna be an opening for you to advance at least two spots up, the Pagani Huayra in fifth is lagging a bit, take advantage of it," Alex instructed me through the headset.

"I'm on it," I replied, coming to the bend of the first turn, and holding my position until we came to the highest crest of it, then slipping out of the line of cars to accelerate myself on the inside of the track, and to move up to fourth place.

"Fuckin' perfect, Finn. Styles is coming in hot, I'm betting he tries to move from tenth to sixth or fifth on this next turn. I'm sure he has it out for our car tonight, especially after our little encounter earlier today, so be prepared for him to do some reckless driving," he warned me.

"I'll be prepared...don't think he will be though," I chuckled, watching as we approached the next turn, and flicking my eyes to the rearview mirror to see Harry accelerating past the line of cars, sliding into sixth place as we returned to a straightaway.

My skin was hot from a mix of the adrenaline and the heated engine of the car. I made sure to listen to the car as I drove, taking note of what it reacted to well, and what it did not.

Harry remained in sixth for the next ten laps, and I knew that he was waiting to do something big. I had passed the Bugatti Chiron and taken their position in third, but I wasn't trying to get in first yet...we still had twenty laps to go, and I still had a driver to piss off.

Suddenly, I heard a loud crash from behind me, and I prayed it wasn't Harry. I didn't want him to get off that easy.

"Was that-" I started to ask, but Tommy cut me off.

"No. He's fine. It was a crash between a BMW i8 and a Porsche 935. There may be a little debris on your next lap, but luckily the crash pushed them both into the grass, just keep an eye out for the wreckage on the second turn of your next lap," he instructed, and I sighed in relief.

The next ten laps went by without a hitch, and my spot was held secure as I made sure to be defensive and reactive in each decision I made. The Bugatti Chiron behind me had knocked my bumper a few times, but all that had managed to do was give me further momentum and push me closer to the Maserati GranTurismo in second.
