"I always loved you." [y/n] explained, crossing her legs as she sat across from Tsukishima on the couch. The male folded his hands in his lap, eyes downcast. "I'm sorry for everything I did. There were things I didn't need to say. It was all my fault."
The girl felt relieved that she had finally gotten everything off her chest. She went through everything that had ever happened and explained it thoroughly. Tsukishima remained quiet the entire time, keeping his composure the entire time.
"It really was all my fault. I'm sorry. You can hate me all you want now." She bowed her head, clutching the material of her shorts.
His hand slowly came up to hold her chin, tilting her head backwards so she'd look him in the eye. Her heart raced at the thought of a soft kiss that would reunite them both. Only for it to be shattered when she saw cold eyes glaring down at her with a cruel smirk on his lips.
"You really think that half-hearted apology is gonna fix what happened?"
Her eyes widened at the coldness of his voice. "W-What?"
He scoffed. "Nothing will ever fix our relationship."
She scooted towards him, grabbing the sleeve of his shirt. "B-But you said...you said you loved me. You kissed me. You.."
"I lied. Are you that dense?" He stood up, shaking off the girl who tried to clutch onto him. "It's no wonder that Kageyama left you. I guess it's the only thing I'll ever agree on with him."
She could feel it. Her chest became heavy and everything was spinning. It felt like she couldn't breathe anyway as she tried to scream his name but nothing came out. She clawed at her throat that refused to make any noise.
You promised you wouldn't go anywhere.
"[y/n], wake up!" Tsukishima shouted urgently, waking the female who had been having a nightmare. The moment she peeled her hazy eyes open, she was greeted by his worried countenance as he hovered over her. "You're fine. Don't cry. I'm right here with you. It's okay."
He pulled her shaky body into his arms, holding her so tightly that she had forgotten all about the horrible dream she had. The only think she could think of was the way his warm body held hers, reassuring her that he was still at her side.
"Don't leave me, Kei. Please, I don't wanna be alone again."
Tsukishima slumped down, "I'm not leaving. I promise."
They stayed like that for a bit until she was calm. When she had finally come back to her senses, she asked, "Why are you wet?"
Tsukishima ran a hand through his hair with a sigh. "You fell asleep in the tub, and I had to carry you out. You're so lucky I got there when I did or else things would've ended way worse."
"Oh, sorry...for troubling you.." [y/n] trailed off, feeling a bit burdensome. She really hated making Tsukishima go through things like because she was irresponsible.
