Lo

Two Weeks Later

Kash was arrested, but he hadn't been charged with anything yet, which made absolutely no sense to me. It was clear that he didn't murder Bella, but then again... Those text messages that he allegedly sent her were all too suspicious. Kash swears up and down that he didn't send those text messages, but if he didn't... Who did?

I sat outside Bella's apartment complex, trying to find the strength to get out of the car and go inside her house, but I couldn't move. The landlord called me and told me that I could come look through her stuff, taking whatever I wanted, before they cleaned her apartment out, and just knowing that I had to do this was a bittersweet feeling.

"You can do this. You can do this." I told my said, inhaling deeply and exhaling slowly. I climbed out of the car, making my way towards her apartment, as I used the spare key to unlock the front door. I had to stand there for a minute, bracing myself, before pushing the door open and stepping in. I almost had a half of mind to call out for Bella, since it was a habit of mine, but I stopped myself, because I had to keep reminding myself that she was gone.

Closing the door behind me, I fanned my teary eyes, as I slowly walked through her clean apartment. We had so many memories in this house, good and bad, but I wonder how many other memories she made with Kash, and where those memories were made. Ugh, just the thought of those two still made my stomach turn, but I wasn't trying to relive the past. I just wanted to move forward, and learn how to forgive her, just like I had forgiven Kash.

"Bella." I sighed, running my hands along the arm of her couch. "I know we weren't in a good place, but you didn't deserve to die. I wish there was something I could've done, but then again...I was still so angry at you, and I probably wouldn't have even answered when you called. Petty, right? Yeah, I know. I promise you though... I'm gonna find out who did this, and they won't get away with it." I wiped my falling tears, sitting down on her couch, as I looked around. Even the apartment itself seemed so dead and lifeless, as if it had been abandoned a long time ago. Looking down at the coffee table, something oddly familiar caught my eyes, as I grabbed it and picked it up.

"Vance Thompson? Vic's brother?" I read the scribbled writing that was on a ripped up piece of paper, along with a phone number. Why did Bella have Vic's brother's number, and what was she up to? Pulling the phone out of my pocket, I dialed the brother's number, and pressed the phone up against my ear.

"Yo, who dis?" He answered, making me jump a little, by the strong, deep bass of his voice. Almost just as strong and deep as his brother's voice.

"Um... Hi. My name is Lo... I mean, Londyn, and I found your number amongst my friend's things, and I was wondering if you could tell me when was the last time you spoke to her? Her name is Bella." I asked, putting on my whitest customer service voice. Correction... Her name WAS Bella. I thought to myself. That's what I should've said, but for some reason, I didn't.
