Robyn~
"Damn Monica, why ain't you picking up. I need you," I whispered in my phone. I need her help badly because I don't know what I'm feeling. Today I wanted to surprise Jade by popping up with some ice cream. I didn't find him at David's, so I went out searching for him. I found his car and him. I found it suspicious seeing him jump into a car that wasn't his. So I sneaked a little closer to see what's going on. Why was he jumping in a Mini Cooper? Hey, I'm not stalking him. What if he's in trouble, like what if he gets stuck because his legs are too damn long.
I dropped both ice creams finding out he wasn't in trouble. He was wiping some girl's tears, she seems pretty, did he think she's more beautiful than me? He smirked before making out with her. It was unbearable to watch, so I turned around and ran out of sight. Near David's shop was where I stopped, unable to move, my stomach turn upside down. Why am I hurt, because I'm his best friend and she stole my time with him? Monica should be able to help me make sense. "Where is she?" I thought out loud before giving Dean a ring.
"Hi Dean, it's me."
"Rob-, Robyn," Dean chocked, his voice hoarse.
"You sound horrible. What's wrong?"
"It... It's. It's Monica "
My chest caved in as I ran towards Jade. It didn't matter who he was with now. It wasn't until I banged the passenger door that I now knew. It did matter. All the pain multiplied, seeing Jade's hands in places where it shouldn't be. I broke down crying on the floor. My knee now grazed by the stones. I didn't dare to look up, nor did I have the courage or the energy. Jade leaped out of the car, rushing to see what's wrong with me, the damsel in distress. I decided to stop crying, wiping my tears away. "what happened?" Jade asked.
I wailed more than before. Why do I have to be like such? "Monica's dead!" I muttered in between my sobs.
"What? " Jade was baffled, "this isn't true. I saw her cheerful and happy when she got the news about Dean's full recovery."
"Is this your friend or something? " Felicia interjected.
"yes, and you've got to go," Jade demanded. Felicia felt the tension and decided that she didn't want any of it, so she jumped back into her car and left.
Jade helped me up and placed me into his car, "is she really?" Jade asked. I nod as speaking might influence tears."How?"
"I don't know. I ran as soon as I heard..." I trailed off, remembering Dean, " oh shit Dean's still on the phone. "
I put it on speaker and left it on the dashboard. " Dean, you still there? " Jade asked suspiciously.
"Where else can I go?" he mumbled, his voice down and rough.
"what happened? " Jade asked. Dean started rambling, not making sense. "Woah, slow down, Dean, Dean, take a breath and tell me again slowly this time," Jade suggested.
"Okay, Monica and I were going to my place. When a car came out of nowhere, fucking nowhere... It happened so fast and—" Dean choked on the last word. I couldn't hold back my tears any longer. She's gone for good.
"where are you," Jade questioned.
"I'm at LAPD. They, they want my statement."
"We on our way," Jade assured.
" they wouldn't... They wouldn't let me see her," Dean whispered.

We arrived at the Los Angeles police department. I thought seeing Dean's unconscious with pipes down his throat was bad but seeing Dean's clothes messed in blood, eyes red, and his cheerful attitude gone.
Jade rushed to his side, checking for where all the blood was coming from," are you injured," he inquired.
"no, I'm... this is her blood."
My hand covered my mouth, my tears barely holding back.
"Hey! you are not allowed to be here," The officer warned.
"they with me," Dean yelled, standing between us and the feisty cop.
"they with you," the officer questioned, leading to Jade and me nodding in unison.
" you should go to him, " he advised, " his girlfriend was involved in a hit and run. He's going to need all of you to pull through that."
The officer was leaving when Jade stopped him, "do you know who did this to her and why?"
"I'm afraid that I'm not allowed to disclose any information on the case," he said sternly, leaving the building.
"We should probably get him home," I advised as I walked over to Dean.
Jade was already helping him up, "Dean let's go home and have you cleaned up," he suggested. With that follows us and hops into the car. This must be getting to him. We were all consumed by silence in that car. I tried breaking the ice, but words failed me.
Fifteen minutes or something, we at Dean's house. His house seems vacant. Gosh, I know how lonely that must feel. I know what's it like to have busy bees as parents. "we'll wait for you while you shower," Jade assured.
Dean gave a half-smile, "don't stress, I won't do anything stupid."
He then grabbed his clothes before leaving to shower. I sat on Dean's bed as Jade paces up and down anxiously, waiting for him. Silent sobs echo through the downpour from the shower. Jade wipes a fallen tear from my face. I didn't even realise that I was crying. Dean's been going through so much, and now this. Jade pulls me into a hug, which I snuggled into.
"what are we going to do now? "
"I don't know, Princess, I don't, "Jade croaked before clearing his throat, smiling ever so lightly, "we'll somehow manage."
Dean walked out of the shower, already dressed. Tears still run down his cheek, "I couldn't save, it's my fault," Dean cried, his hands still shaking.
" It isn't your fault," I said as Jade pulled him into a hug. I rushed to join and hug them both. It was what we needed.
"if I didn't freeze at that moment, she'd still be here."
"There's nothing you could have done. It was Monica's fate. " Jade explained.
Dean pushed us away, "screw fate," he snapped, "I just want her back, I don't care if she swears me, argues with me. I'll be grateful just to have her by my side! She didn't even get to say what she wanted to tell me."
I cried louder, "I also need her here, but she's gone, but we still here, we still here for you, dammit Dean, we here!"
