Jade~

The phone buzzed wildly, waking me up. I'm struggling to open my eyes, struggling to switch it off. I forced one eye open, meeting it with a burning sensation. Gosh, I'm tired. My phone stops buzzing, thank the lord. I lay back down on the ground, my eyes feeling heavy. I was slowly drifting off to sleep when the phone buzzed violently beside me again.

I picked up the phone, "what! " I said more harshly than I should.

"Woah, someone woke up on the floor today," Dean joked.

"Sorry, I thought you were someone else. Well, technically, I am on the floor," I admit.

"bro, what are you doing on the floor?"

"I slept over by Robyn," I explained, last night, we played some board games and watched a movie before I crashed on the floor.

"But you have a girlfriend, anyway speaking of your girlfriend, come to the mall," Dean ordered.

"Why," I asked, confused.

"Just get your ass here fast," Dean cajoled before cutting the call.

I sprung up from the floor, staring at Robyn, sleeping peacefully and dead in her bed. I say dead because no matter how much I shake her, she doesn't even budge. I've got to rush no need to worry if she's dead or alive. Maybe I should just check, "yep, she's breathing happy now?" I muttered to myself.

She mumbles and moans, "mmm, Jade, where you off to?"

"To the mall, go back to sleep," I said kissing, her forehead before rushing off.

I caught a taxi to the mall. Dean texted me to meet him by the movies. If this his plan of spending some time with me, I'm going to kick him because he could have asked. I jumped out after paying the cab driver his due, I'm thankful that he didn't talk nonstop. Oh God, did I just kiss Robyn? I kicked the wall, and when my foot connected, I regretted that too. My hopping earned weird looks from the people around me.

I was walking near the movies, lost in thought, when someone grabbed me, pulling me to his level, almost tearing my collar. The slight rasp of material ripping, my t-shirt ripping as Dean drags me closer, pointing to the cinema. I don't believe it. It's Felicia with another guy, holding hands.

"That could be a family member," I whispered to Dean.

"Good point but would her family member do that," Dean whispered back as he points to Felicia. My eyes made it in time for me to catch him kissing her before they both disappeared into the same toilet.

"I'm going to give her a piece of my mind," I muttered to myself as I walked away.

"Bro, she's this way. Why are you heading in the opposite direction?"

I was right about love not existing. I didn't have feelings for her, but I still feel betrayed, "come on, Dean, let's go home. I'm single again," I drawled.

"Is that a good thing or a bad thing?" Dean asked as a smirked tugged my face.

"Who knows? "

Dean dragged me to the movies, "we'll go home after this movie," he cajoled.

"fine," I mumble.

"Unless you want to go clubbing," Dean laughed.

"Oh hell no, what's good to watch, " I quickly questioned, "Hey wait, I thought you don't go clubbing anymore?"

"I don't, but you bought it," Dean chortled.

"Yeah, I hate you. What are we watching? " I insisted as I scroll through what's available.

"Ready Player One, " Dean smirked, "you going to love this movie."

After the movie was over, I walked with Dean by my side, feeling inspired, "I can't wait for our future games to be like that. You were right, Dean, I love that movie!"

Alex crosses our path, about 20 feet away, sending death stares at me, his face flustered, his blood boiling with anger. He pulls out a gun, pointing it at me. My heart stopped. My system flooded with adrenaline, making my heartbeat like it's trying to escape from my chest. My eyes are wide with fear. My body wants to run fast for safety, but instead, I stay glued to the ground. Let's face it. There is only one thing I can do, pray because today is the day I die. I closed my eyes. The trigger was pulled, the gun was fired, but I'm not shot. I open my eyes. Dean's on the ground squirming in pain. Why Dean why? It's not Dean's fault. Something inside me switched off. My eyes only saw red with Alex nothing else. Alex's hand was trembling when I sprinted towards him. He fired the gun again, shattering something behind me, taking another deep breath before firing again. My arm jerked backward, dropping me to my knees. Ignoring the pain in my arm, the blood dripping down my hand. I tried to move as quickly as possible, knocking him down. His head slams the bin that was behind him, rendering him unconscious. That didn't stop me from bashing him with one hand, not stopping. My other hand refused to move and help me kill him. I wanted him dead, and dead is what he's going to be. Two guys pulled me from him, but I used my legs to still kick Alex and slipped, falling from the guy's grip. I rushed back to finish him.

Hot anger coursed through me as I lifted my fist and punched Alex, not feeling the blood dripping from my left hand, not hearing the cops ordering me to stop, not feeling the cops pinning me down. All I saw was Alex, and all I felt was anger.
