"The day has come, " Dean said, dramatically entering my room while I was getting ready, "aren't you excited J.D? "
"Excited for what?" I drawled, Dean just looked stunned. And that's because Valentine's festival only comes every four years. Some kind of ritual here. Everyone in the class was excited about it, especially the guys like Tom, Brad, and Jake. Leo wouldn't be joining. From what I can tell, I'd say he's too shy. I wouldn't mind staying but not because I'm shy but because my house is cozy and safe. Geez, I sound boring. I should be excited like everyone, but I have a bad feeling about today.
"We have dates. "
"Uhm no, it's only you that has a date. I'm single," I bragged.
Dean's eyebrow raised not happy with my response, "So you and Robyn?"
"We're just friends, " I dryly said.
"Friends with benefits," his face lit up with a mischievous grin as he nudged my ribs, "way to go, player. "
"no, nothing like that. We only kissed because of the dare," I shrugged him off.
Dean made a face, "I only dared her to kiss you for 5 minutes."
"I don't want to hear this," I muttered, walking out of the house before yelling, "are you coming to the festival, or are you going to annoy me!"
"I can do both," he quipped, strolling down the stairs.
"You can stay!" I scoffed, slamming the house door shut, making sure I locked it with him on the inside.
"J.D, my man, please open the damn door," he scoffed, banging the door from the inside, I ignore him. " I'm sorry I'm sorry, please let me out," he begged.
10 minutes later.
"Jade I'm begging you please let me out."
"Did you learn your lesson?" I asked. I'm sure that'll teach him.
"What lesson?" he quipped, as he thought hard, his face was as if someone was constipated. What gave away his act was the grin he couldn't seem to hide.
"Oh, so that's how you want to play, " I sneered, walking to the car. Yep, I'm about to leave his sorry ass behind.
"I'm kidding, Jade. Don't do this to me!" he whined. After negotiations went back and forth, I let him out. Dean ran and jumps into the car, sitting well behaved with his arms crossed. I hopped in my car, satisfied.
A few moments later, I swerved the car off the road because a car almost rammed into me. I'm pretty sure the car was just overtaking me because I was driving at a "safe speed" if anyone asks, it tried to kill us.
"Why don't you swing the steering one more time and kill us for sure," Dean snapped.
"Hey you're still alive, are you not?" I laugh, but it was fake because I'm terrified.
I'm not a terrible driver. I just put us in positions that could kill. Like the one time, I thought I could make it before the traffic light switched red. I thought wrong. In a split second, it turns red. A van drives forward. My car was moving 150 miles per hour, I could have smashed into him, but the van guy pressed brakes and reversed into the car behind him. He's the horrible driver, not me. I didn't smash into another car, well not as yet.
Dean and I reach safely, see I'm not that bad of a driver.
We stood by the entrance, waiting for Robyn and Monica. It's 5 p.m they should be here soon. Out of nowhere, something hits me on my back, sending cold shivers down my spine, water dribbling from my back down to my legs, to the floor as if I pissed my pants. Soon after that, were two girls giggling at my predicament. What's going on?
