Survive

No trust

-Margaret's POV-

We have walked a whole day and it seems like I am the only one tired. Well, Meliodas let Elizabeth ride on his back when she become tired. The same with Zeldoris and Gelda. Gelda was on Zeldoris back. Ban also carried Elaine, but they did it bridal style.

We have stopped at a gas station. Everyone was outside except Ban, Meliodas and Gowther that walked inside to get things like food and water.

Me and Elizabeth sat down beside each other and talked while the others talked to each other and started a fire.

"Elizabeth?" I asked, making her look concern. She let me go on as I said "You should stay away from Meliodas, he isn't worth you and never will. He is dangerous."

"Margaret, you don't understand. He is much better then what you think. It's nearly I don't believe he even done a crime." Elizabeth said. She was shaking a bit. Not that strange because it is really cold out here.

"No, you don't understand. He is surely just doing that because he need to use you or something. He will betray you." I said. She was about to respond when we heard a gunshot and it shoot right over us. We looked at the direction where it come from to see Meliodas with a gun in his hand.

Then we heard something fall on the ground, it sounded like a body hit the ground just beside us.

We looked there immediately to see a zombie on the ground with a gunshot in the head just centimeters away.

That made me more scared then I already was. We heard footsteps coming in a fast peace and when I looked at Elizabeth, Meliodas was already with her and asked "Are you okay? Are you hurt?"

He was kneeling to our height and held in Elizabeth's hands.

"I-I'm fine." She stuttered. He smiled a bit before he hugged her and said "I was worried that you was hurt."

When he let her go, she started shaking of the cold again, making him ask "Are you freezing?"

She nodded slowly before he gave her his sweater and said "I will get you a blanket or something too."

"T-thank you." Elizabeth said as she put on the sweater. He just nodded and walked up to all the food and water they took with them out. It was butter, bread and even juice. They also took some things like butter knife and plastic glasses.

He made a sandwich and a glass with juice and walked back to us before he gave it to Elizabeth.

"Eat up and go to sleep. You need it." He said as Elizabeth did as told, not even have time to thank him before he goes back inside the gas station.

While he did it, everyone else walked to make sandwiches to themselves or their friends, taking some juice at the same time.

"I will go and make some for me too." I said and walked up to make some myself. When I was done, Meliodas come out and we both made out way towards Elizabeth. Him going a bit after me.

I sat down as he got around Elizabeth and put the blanket around her before sitting beside her. He was quite muscular.

"I will give you ba-" Elizabeth was cut off by Meliodas saying "Keep it. I don't want you to freeze, I will be fine."

She slowly nodded and laid her head on his chest after eating and drinking up. He put his arms around her and said "Go to sleep if you are tired."

She nodded as he started stroking her hair until she fell asleep. When she was fully asleep, I looked at Meliodas and asked "What do you want with her?!"

He just slowly put Elizabeth on the ground and got up. The last thing he said is "You should also get some sleep. It will be a long day tomorrow."

Then he made his way to get himself a bit of food. I laid down, freezing a bit while looking at Elizabeth. She really looked happy, even in this kind of situation.

My moment was ruined when Meliodas sat down again and put Elizabeth in his embrace, making her snuggle in him in her sleep.

Then he ate his food.

He is making me really irritated, so I asked "What do you want from Elizabeth?!" in a both quiet and demanding tone. He simply responded with "Happiness. I just want her happiness."

"And what do you mean with that?!" I asked angrily. He just looked at me and said "I want her happy. More then anything."

Okay, that was actually pretty cute with his child face, but never that I believe him. He looked back at the sleeping Elizabeth while he ate the rest of his meal.

Then I become bold enough to ask "Why do you look so much as a child? You must be over 30 or something."

"30? Really?" He asked, looking like he was about to laugh. All I did was nod.

"I'm 17. Not even close to 30." He said, but then a "Ugghhh." was heard again, making Meliodas pull out his gun. This time, the zombie was behind Ban and Meliodas shoot the zombie right in the face.

He could handle a gun, I give him that much.

My thoughts was cut off by Elizabeth's worried voice asking "What happened?"

"Don't worry, just go back to sleep." Meliodas said as he laid down, one arm around Elizabeth and the other under his head. Elizabeth being on top of him with her head on his chest.

"No Elizabeth, let's go instead. We don't need to be here." I said. She looked at me and for a second, I thought she would do so, but instead, she snuggled closer to Meliodas.

That made me angry. So I stood up and walked over to the one I think is King. Everyone eLlse was going to sleep now, so this is the perfect timing.

"King? Could I talk to you? About Meliodas?" I asked. He nodded and we walked away so that no one could hear.
