chapter 14

After the surgery:
"Thank you Dr. Grey for your help in there. I know we didn't do really anything since she already had her baby but I just needed to be there for her" Addie said while scrubbing out "it's okay I know this patients important to you"

"What are you doing tonight?" She asked me "I'm going to joes with Cristina then I was thinking maybe I could meet you at your house" i said walking over to her "because I don't think I want to wake up alone" i whispered in her ear before walking out

I sat down in the cafeteria with Cristina and Alex because George and Izzie are still mad about Addie but I honestly didn't care anymore

"So what has Bambi and Dr. model all mad at you?" Cristina asked "if I tell you, you can't tell anyone else okay" i said seriously "okay?" they both said "okay so the other night something happened to Addison so I brought her back to my house. Izzie and George were there and they got super mad about it and now they won't talk to me" i explained

"Did anything happen?" Cristina asked "we held hands, shared life stories but nothing more than that. At least that night" i said "wait hold on there was more than one night!?" Cristina said "There was also last night" i said "Well what happened last night?" Alex asked leaning in closer.

"Last night we watched a movie, cuddled, ate dinner then... i asked her out" i said receiving shocked gasps "But they don't know we're together. You two are the only ones who know so i swear to god if you tell anyon-" i said very fast "Okay we get it don't tell anyone. So is the sex good?" Alex asked getting a slap from Cristina and me.

"What it was a serious question!" Alex said making all three of us laugh "What's all the laughing about?" Addie said walking up behind me "Well, um, I kinda told Alex and Cristina about, you know, us" I said very awkwardly "Oh okay I still don't understand what the laughing was about" she said smiling at me.

"Well the laughing was because the first question Alex had was about sex" i said looking over at him before Addie slapped him too "Thats what we did!" Cristina and I said making us all laugh before Addie's pager went off then mine not two seconds later "It's the pit we gotta go Mer" she said starting to walk "Okay bye Alex, bye Cristina" i said running to catch up.

At the pit:

"Dammit, dammit, DAMMIT" is all you could hear when we walked into the pit "time of death 15:34" i heard Richard say "Was that our patient?" I asked "Yes Dr. Grey, that was your patient" Richard said walking away "What happened to her?" Addie asked this time "She was in a car accident, before she lost consciousness she said she was 10 weeks pregnant but she died before you could get here" he said

After Richard was done speaking Addie walked away very quickly without a word. I gave her a minutes head start before trying to find her. 

I found her on the floor of the bathroom crying "Oh Addie are you okay?" i asked pulling her into my arms "I'm okay it should be easier by now. I've gone through this enough times I shouldn't be like this" she said trying to stop crying "What should be easier?" i asked sounding confused "Losing a mom and a baby, it shouldn't be this hard anymore"

"No Addie, it's a good thing that you still feel it" i said "Why is it a good thing that I feel this terrible when I lose a patient?" she asked looking up at me "Because it means that you still can feel. Its so easy in our line of work to be numb and not be able to feel, but you care and you love your patients. Baby's or adults" i said making her laugh

"Thank you princess" she said leaning up to kiss me "Why do you call me princess anyways?" i asked pulling away "Because you are a princess in my eyes, a princess that deserves everything good that life has to offer" she said getting up and pulling me with her.

"That has to be the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me" i said laughing as we walked out of the bathroom "I'll only ever say these things about you" she said

That night:

"Hey I'm going out for drinks with Cristina so I'll see you back at your place later" i said to Addie as we walked out of the hospital. "Hold on, follow me to my car first" she said "Why do I need to follow you to your car" i said laughing a little

"So that way I can do this without anyone seeing" she kissing me. "I can't wait to get back to your place so we can do that again, but right now I'm going to drink with Cristina" i said kissing her one last time "Okay but call me when your done, I don't want you drunk driving" she said "Okay I'll tell Joe to make me call you, see you later" i said walking away

I walked into Joes to see Cristina already sitting at the bar throwing back a shot of tequila. "Hey you were supposed to wait for me" i said sitting down "Well you were taking forever, what took you so long anyways?" she asked looking at me "I was talking to Addison, oh wait that reminds me. Hey Joe make sure I call Addison to come pick me up"

  "I'll make sure you call Addison to come pick you up and I'll also make sure to call a cab for Cristina because she's already had 3 shots" he said before helping another customer "Dang I guess you really couldn't wait for me" I said before taking my first shot.

Three hours later:

"I think it's time for you two to go home" Joe said after our 10th shot "But my car is so far away" I pouted "But remember you aren't driving, your supposed to call Addison" he said handing me my phone that I had set on the bar "Oh yeah, Addison" i said remembering

"Hey Addison, I'm all done now so you can come pick me up" i said slurring my speech "Okay I'll be there in a couple minuets" she said "No I'll see you in a couple minuets" i said slurring every word "Okay fine you'll see me, bye" she said before hanging up.

"I already called a cab for you Cristina it's outside" Joe said pointing to the door "Okay I'm going to leave now bye Mer see you tomorrow" she said waving as she left 

"Hey you" Addie said coming up behind me trying to give me a kiss "Hey lady I don't know who you think you are trying to kiss me like that but I'm not available I'm waiting here for my girlfriend" i said turning around because there was no way this random lady was going to kiss me.

"Well shes not here so why don't you just kiss me" Addie said playing into my drunkenness "Because my girlfriend is amazing" i said still not realizing it was her "What makes her so great?" Addie asked laughing "Well she has beautiful hair, she says all these amazing things to me, she has this smile that can light up a room. When I first met her I thought she was going to be a bitch but actually she's the sweetest most amazing person ever" i counted off on my fingers

"And all of that makes her better than some random chick at a bar" i said still clueless that this was Addie "Okay well I'm your amazing beautiful girlfriend and I want to get home and go to bed so lets go get in the car" she said pulling me with her to the car.

We went home, she got me into pajamas and cuddled until i fell asleep in her arms
