Chapter 20: One Last Time

I crossed my arms.

I honestly don't know what to do. I'm still overwhelmed about everything that I found out today that the idea of talking to Eunwoo again is making me anxious.

Before I could respond, I saw a familiar figure leaving the restaurant. 

"Jennie?" I said. And the familiar figure turned around looking shocked as I am. Jennie is with a guy who looks familiar, but I can't remember who he is. 

I smiled at her and she immediately walked towards me. "Jisoo! Oh my god, I missed you!" 

We hugged each other. "Yeah, you've been MIA." I rolled my eyes at her.

She laughed. "Sorry. I've been busy with...my career. But you know, I'm always one call away." 

I nodded. Even if we haven't seen each other, we still talk via our squad's group chat. Although the guy beside her is something she hasn't mentioned before. My attention about this Eunwoo or Jinyoung saga is gone, and I'm just curious as to whom is with my best friend.

I think Jennie noticed my curiosity and gulped before she introduced the guy to me. 

"Jisoo, this is Kai. Kai, this is my best friend, Jisoo." 

OHHHH SO THIS IS KAI?

"Nice to meet you, Jisoo," Kai said as he gestured his hand to me. I was about to take it to shake his hand when Eunwoo and Jinyoung pulled me back to reality. 

They simultaneously coughed. That's all. These idiots.

"Nice to meet you, too." I nodded at Kai and introduced everyone to him. 

Jennie sighed. "So, umm, it looks like you have company. We'll just go ahead, Jisoo."

I squinted my eyes at her. I don't want to be left alone here. She noticed my hesitation and crossed her arms. "Unless....do you need a ride home?"

I smiled at her. THANK YOU, JENNIE!
