FOR THE FIRST WEEK OF HER RECUPERATION, Devyn had been confined to her home. As expected, it'd gotten very old very quick, but she had no choice but to listen to Gordie, who'd heavily encouraged the girl to take it easy. The boy doctor had tried his hardest to take care of her a best as someone with no formal medical training could. Not wanting to raise his blood pressure by worrying him, the girl agreed.

Throughout the week, she'd gotten quite a few visitors, though Grizz had come the most frequently out of everyone else. The boy had made it a habit to sit at her bedside, connecting his hotspot to her laptop so that they could entertain themselves with PlutoTV or something like that. It had been near impossible for him to stay away.

Now, a week after the accident, Devyn stirred awake in her bed. The girl turned her head to the side. On her right was a figure, curled up behind her, still asleep.

Shaela had nearly burst into tears upon hearing what had happened during the Fugitive game. She hadn't taken part in the game in any stretch, however, she did leave Gabby's house right away in order to make sure Devyn was alright. After coming home to an empty town and losing their mother, it's been quite the scare for the junior.

Although she was feeling a bit better that morning, the girl just laid there for a few minutes. As she'd started to drift back to sleep, the loud ringing of her phone woke the girl up again. She let out a puff of air as she reached over to retrieve her phone from the bedside table. It'd been a text from Cassandra, letting her know about a meeting in the church in an hour.

At this, Devyn blinked her eyes a few times, attempting to rouse herself from her tired state. She threw her blankets to the side, moving to sit on the edge of the bed.

"Morning."

Devyn jumped upon hearing her sister's voice, having thought that she was still asleep. "Jesus, Shae," Devyn gasped, holding her chest as her heart beat accelerated.

Shaela just snorted, turning over onto her back. She raised her phone to her face, scrolling through its content.

"Did you get a text about the meeting?"

"Gabby told me. Are you going?" Shaela questioned.

Devyn just nodded, standing from the bed and going to her Chester drawers to get out her clothes.

"You don't have to, if you're not feeling well."

Devyn could tell by the tone in her sister's voice that she was a bit worried about her wellbeing. "I'm fine, mom, calm down," Devyn joked, causing Shaela to roll her eyes in response. She appreciated the girl's worry, but there was nothing strenuous or dangerous about going to Cassandra's meeting. "You coming with or no?"

Shaela nodded, standing from the bed and smoothing over the sheets. "Let me get dressed first," The younger girl replied, leaving the room.
