THE NEXT MORNING, Devyn was awoken by the loud chimes of her phone, notifying her that she'd gotten numerous new messages while she'd slept. The girl rubbed her eyes, sarcastically remarking under her breath about how she was pretty popular that particular morning.

Like any other morning, Devyn wasn't exactly in the mood to hop right up immediately. Her body's circadian cycle had done it's job in waking her, but had clocked out before it could give her any energy to get out of bed.

Leighanne was still asleep next to her, so when she did finally decide to get up, she did so quietly. Devyn, herself, was nursing a killer headache from the loud music as she went to the bathroom for some aspirin.

Peeking into Shaela's room, the junior girls were still passed out, so she just decided to leave them be. Their first hangover was gonna be a bitch, so they were probably gonna wanna stay in bed whenever they did finally wake up. The thought caused Devyn to leave a few aspirin and bottles of water on Shaela's bedside table for them. They'd thank her later.

"Hey, Devyn," Caleb called up to the girl from the bottom of the steps as she passed by the staircase. The girl stopped in her tracks, rolling her eyes a bit as she was being held up from showering.

"Yeah?"

"Where did you and Shae go last night?" Caleb questioned, leaning against the bannister.

Devyn was able to stop her features from giving her away, though inside of her chest, her heart sped up. "How do you know we left? Maybe I was going through my stuff in my closet," Devyn suggested, attempting to come up with any excuse.

"Yeah, right," Caleb dismissed the girl. His stare cut through her, as if he were nonverbally calling her out for something he knew she'd done behind his back. "Why are you lying?"

"I'm not lying. I could have been in my closet."

"But, you weren't. I checked the whole house and you weren't here."

At this point, Devyn didn't feel like she had enough energy to continue to dodge her brothers' questions anymore. "That's because we weren't, but we were fine. Leighanne and I were watching Shaela like a hawk. We weren't gonna let anything happen to her."

"Devyn, that's not the point!" He snapped, annoyed. "We don't know where we are or what's going on. Until we can get home, I've gotta look out for all four of you and you running off to some party isn't helping me."

"I don't know what you want me to say. I had it handled. She didn't go far," Devyn said, shrugging . "Besides I didn't drink anything. Leigh and I took care of her."

"But, Devy-"

"Caleb, can we just drop it? I get it. I don't need you to chew me out," Devyn called down, causing the boy to sigh. "Cassandra called a meeting so I'm gonna go and leave the girls here," she said, referring to the sleeping Juniors.
