Ch. 18 "Unfamiliar"

                                                   Clint POV 

Currently I'm interrogating Hayden's mother while Nat is Interrogating her father, 

"I'm going to ask this one last time," I said glaring at the woman who looks tired since she's been cuffed to the table for days, 

"How do you know HYDRA?" I said 

"And why were you giving your daughter to them!" I said slamming my hands on the table, 

"We go way back, and we've fallen into hard times," The mother said 

"So you decided to sell your child?" I said 

These people make me sick, I thought angry, 

"Me getting pregnant was a mistake but we took in on with a grain assault, when my husband found out, well he was hoping and praying it would be a boy," The woman said 

Then her eyes turned dark and full of hate, 

"But instead we got Hayden," He said 

I balled my hands up into fists it took everything I had not to hit this woman, everything!

Then she smirked 

"You care about her don't you?" He said 

"Someone has to when you and your husband have been using her as your personal punching bag," I said my voice filled with venom 

                                           Nat POV 

This guy is exhausting, I thought 

"So let me get this straight you tried to sell your daughter just to support your habit?" I said 

"She is not my daughter! she was a mistake! she was supposed to be a boy!" He yelled 

"You seriously blame her for being a girl? do you have any idea how insane that makes you sound," I said 

"It's the truth!" He said glaring 

Fury walked in, 

"That's enough for today," He said 

I nodded walking out, 

                                                   Hayden POV 

I'm outside of the tower in a tree looking at all the stars, how beautiful they look, how clear, 

How they never change, how at peace I feel when I look at them, I know I have anger issues that is only because of my family, these past few days, not getting the life beat out of me, I'm surprisingly mellow, it's like it was a different lifetime ago, I thought 

"There you are," I heard, 

I jumped down from the tree to see Clint, 

"What you said I could explore," I said 

"Yeah, but I wasn't expecting you to be in a tree," He said chuckling 

I just shrugged, 

"Come on it's getting pretty late," He said nudging me towards the tower, 

I just nodded and started walking with him, 

Clint, just the way he looks at me, I don't even know how I can describe the look, it's something I've never seen before, something unfamiliar, I thought as we walked into the tower
