After punching Orion at the press conference, Anthony didn't break his hand, but he definitely made the hairline fracture worse. He did cause a delayed union in his hand which means it'll take longer to heal than expected. Despite knowing that he's still choosing to go on with the fight.
This week was supposed to be the first week of his official training camp, but he needs to take it easy. Keeping his hand in mind he's limited to bike work, the treadmill, swimming, and running to keep active. He can't box or spar for at least a week or two with a fight three months away.
In a back room at the boxing gym, Anthony sits in front of a camera setup. It slipped his mind that he signed a contract with Showtime to document the weeks up until the fight. It's not ideal with an injury that he's trying to hide...
Once everything is set up the producer begins by asking a question to start him in a certain direction. "A few days ago was the press conference and it came to blows. Let's talk about that..."
Anthony nods. "There's a lot of things he said in the press conference and build up, so I wanted to crack him in his jaw. Was it right? Probably not," he shrugs. Orion, that whole family, talks a lot of rubbish. Just back yourself. Don't disrespect my family or I might lose composure and clap you in the jaw right there and then."
"You always keep your cool. Is that a button people can push that'll always get a reaction, especially your wife?"
"Not always. My opponents have been doing it before I was even dating her," he laughs recalling the memory. "I'm used to it. It's an easy target. They wanna draw me out, she has fame and a name, it'll be everywhere. I don't know why I got mad this time..."
Because Orion has actually been on dates with Abella. Even if it was years ago.
"Do you think you fell for the bait by punching him?"
"Bait is food used to entice fish or other animals as prey. I've never been the prey," he answers confidently. "All these men make me realize my wife is so desired that they want to have some type of proximity to her name. It's like 8 years later and you're mentioning a couple dates you went on with her."
