Round 7
Even though it's the weekend and Anthony could stand to sleep in he still finds himself up. The early bird gets the worm and he has things to do today. After grabbing a few face towels from the organized linen closet he starts down the upstairs hall.
While walking he passes by Idia's nursery where the door's wide open. Glancing over he can see Abella sitting in the rocker in the corner holding Idia. He does a short smile before continuing to the kid's shared bathroom.
Like he expected he walks back in to them fighting over the sink to wet their toothbrushes. "Move!" Sadé bumps Deji's shoulder saying, "Girls first."
"What girl?" Deji responds in a smart aleck tone bumping her right back.
"Hey, take turns. Here," Anthony says picking Sadé up to sit on the counter then points for Deji to stand on the stool.
Asante wears an annoyed face beginning to brush his teeth at the other sink. He's not a morning person at all and them being loud isn't helping his mood. He doesn't understand why people can't just be quiet in the morning.
Anthony guides Deji's toothbrush under the running sink to get it wet before saying, "Open your mouth." Every morning he has to go through it step by step with Deji because he likes to mess about when it comes to the routine. On the contrary, Sadé takes her teeth and smile very serious already.
After vigorously brushing his son's teeth he releases his face instructing, "Oya, spit."
Anthony looks at him waiting for him to do it, but when Deji makes a scrunched up face sticking his tongue out in disgust he knows he swallowed it. "It's nasty," he turns on the sink scooping water into his mouth.
Anthony smacks his lips then teases, "That's what you get for not listening to me." He rinses off all their toothbrushes off putting them in the holders.
As soon as Asante sees Anthony run a face towel under the water he asks, "Can I do it myself? You're rough."
"I'm rough? You don't know rough." He releases his grip on the towel letting him do it. "After using a toothbrush, my Mum used to take a face towel and brush my teeth so hard I thought I would have no teeth," he reminisces.
