After a few days, at the school

"Students, now Mrs. Tripathi will announce the names of the winners."

A lady in her mid-forties walked and stood in front of the podium. She touched the rim of her spectacles and started, "Good morning students. Before I announce the names, I would like to say a few words. I actually read a few papers. I must say, they were very well written. Among them, I found five of them to be excellent. I would like to send them for a magazine."

"Woah!" The students clapped. The students who participated in the competition became excited.

After the students calmed down, the teacher continued. "Now, I will announce the names."

Mrs. Tripathi called a few names.

Rai: "Disha, you will win for sure."

Trina agreed with her.

Disha: "Stop it guys." She glared at them, but she obviously wanted it to happen. Who doesn't want to win? Who doesn't like winning?

"The second position goes to Disha Adhikari."

Disha looked stunned. A part of her was happy, but she felt bad as well. After all, she wanted to be the winner.

Trina nudged her. "Go!" She clapped with all her might.

Rai: "Hurry up!"

Disha looked at them for three seconds and stood up. She walked to the stage and received the certificate and prize.

"Thank you ma'am."

"You did a good job. Keep it up." Mrs. Tripathi smiled at her, very impressed with her work.

Meanwhile, Sarmistha kept looking at Disha the whole time. She looked so proud and happy when Disha was called on the stage to receive the prize. Her eyes, her face, her whole body was literally screaming, 'I AM SO PROUD OF YOU GIRL. THIS IS THE GIRL I LOVE.'

Mrs. Tripathi then smiled and said, "The 1st position goes to" She looked at the students and said the rest, "Sarmistha Ganguly. Give a round of applause for her."

Sarmistha turned blank.

Radhika, who stood behind her shook her. "Sarmistha, ma'am is calling you on the stage. Go!"

Sarmistha came out of her daze and nodded her head absent-mindedly. She walked to the stage and bowed in front of her.

"You are so young, but already so talented. I am very impressed with your work. Excellent writing! After school, come to my office."

"Okay ma'am."

Mrs. Tripathi gave her the prize and smiled.

"Thank you ma'am." Sarmistha looked neat, clean and proper.

Disha looked at Sarmistha and smiled. She looked happy. If someone else won, she would have felt bad. But this was Sarmistha. She deserved something even more than this.

.....

Inside their classroom

Rai and Disha sat together with Trina and Divya behind them. Sarmistha sat in the front bench alone and made a report.

Trina: "Congrats Disha. When will you give the treat?"

Disha looked at Trina with disdain. "Can't you think of anything else?"

Trina: "Come on! Don't be so stingy."

Disha frowned. "I am stingy?"

Trina realized what she said and bite her tongue.
