The Saturday sun seeped through the white curtains hanging in front of Azalea's balcony doors, shining onto her face and illuminating each of her features. Her eyes were closed but she wasn't asleep... just thinking. Thinking about Oscar, and what on earth she had done wrong; thinking about Emily, and what she had texted; thinking about Ivy, and the things that she had said to her; and thinking about Louis... kind, funny, clever, compassionate Louis. Louis who actually listened to her and cared. Louis, her good... friend.
Azalea fluttered her eyes open and stared at the ceiling for a solid few minutes before sitting up, getting out of bed and walking out onto her balcony. She checked her watch as she stood bare foot and only in her white slip dress, staring over the land scape as the breeze blowed around her. 5:52 It was long before Sam or anyone else in the village for that matter would be up. Azalea stared over the countryside; there were sheep milling in the fields, a few horses near by, a tractor rolling slowly down one of the lanes. It was pure bliss.
