Champions League nights under lights at Anfield were one of Emily's favourite things since moving to Liverpool 2 years ago. Winning tonight's game would guarantee the Reds a place in the quarter finals.

Considering it was mid March, it was still pretty cold in the city of Liverpool at 7:30pm on a Tuesday night.

Emily tugged her jacket close to her body before bouncing her nephew up and down on her knee as he watched his father warm up on the field below.

"Daddy!" Rocco exclaimed as he watched Andy kick a ball back and forth to Trent. It was the simple things like watching his father play football that made the little boy so happy and it caused Emily to smile.

"Wave and he might see you bubs." Emily told the little boy in her lap. After waving for a few moments, a head turned around after seeing the little boy waving, but it wasn't Andy.

"Neco." Rocco called as he waved exactly at the Welsh teenager. Neco smiled and waved back at the little boy which made Rocco even happier. "He waved."

"Yeh he did." Emily replied after seeing how happy her nephew was. She was glad things weren't awkward between Neco and anyone else after all it was their break up so no one else needed to be involved. Except Trent and Curtis who just liked to involve themselves in everything to do with the former couple.

The warm ups continued on until it was time for the kick off. The starting 11 on either side took their respective spots on the pitch while the substitutions walked towards the bench.

The crowd cheered as Liverpool took the kick-off and the next 90 minutes were do or die if the Reds wanted a chance to chase a Champions League title once again.

The game ended with a 2-1 win for Liverpool thanks to an injury time goal at the end of the second half from Mane. Next stop was a Champions League quarter final against Bayern Munich in 3 weeks time.

The families of the players made their way down to the tunnel to congratulate the boys on their win and securing a quarter final spot.

"Can we find daddy?" Rocco wondered as Emily carried her nephew down the tunnel while Rachel had Aria in her arms.

"Of course bubs." Emily replied as they stopped  outside the Liverpool dressing room where the players had started coming out.

"Daddy." The little boy exclaimed as he noticed Trent and Andy exiting the dressing room talking about the game.

"Hey buddy." Andy spoke as he took his son from his sister's arms.

"Great game. Next up Bayern." Emily congratulated the two boys as Andy gave his wife a hug.

As the rest of the Liverpool team continued to leave the dressing room, Emily unintentionally found herself looking around for a certain brown haired boy.

"Neco left already." Andy's voice said when he realised who his younger sister was looking for.

"And?" Emily wondered as if she hadn't just been looking for the Welsh National.

"That's who you were looking for." Andy told her with a smile.

"Shut up." Emily rolled her eyes.

"Curtis said something about a date." Trent added. He hated the fact his words were paining his best friend but it had to be done.

"Good for him." Emily spoke with a smile although she wasn't smiling on the inside.

Trent and Andy gave each other a knowing look. They both knew that Emily didn't mean what she had just said but they also knew that it was for the best of things were to work out later.

"I'm gonna head home." Emily decided after a moment of thinking.

"But I drove here." Rachel reminded her sister in law.

"I think I'll walk. I'll see you guys at home." The young Robertson girl bid goodbye to her family and friends before walking down the tunnel towards the exit.

"I feel guilty." Trent admitted once his best friend was out of sight.

"I know man but we couldn't very well tell her what was going on. I just hope she goes home at some stage or the whole thing will be ruined." Andy spoke as he looked in the direction his sister had just left in.

After taking the longer route home from Anfield, Emily walked through the gates and realised that both her brother's car and Rachel's were still gone.

Although she found it quiet odd, Emily proceeded towards the front door and produced her key from her jacket pocket.

The house was dark and quiet as Emily closed and locked the front door before continuing to walk into the living room.

She reached for the light switch to illuminate the room and when she noticed a figure sitting on her couch causing her to jump.

"Neco!" The brunette haired girl exclaimed. "You scared me half to death. What are you doing here? I thought you had a date."

The footballer suddenly felt himself smiling as he stood up so he and Emily were now faced to face.

"Why are you smiling?" Emily wondered.

"Because you're still as gullible as when we were together." Neco replied while laughing slightly at how cute she looked while being confused.

"I don't understand." Emily told the footballer.

"There was never a date Emily. Trent just said that so you'd come home. It kind of worked, an hour later." Neco said with a smile. "Where were you?"

"I walked home." Emily shrugged her shoulders as she took of her jacket.

"Don't take that off." Neco told her which led to Emily feeling even more confused.

"Why?" The Robertson girl wondered as she stopped herself from taking off her jacket.

"Because I wanna take you somewhere." Neco informed her with a smile across his face.

"Why would you wanna do that?" Emily questioned the footballer.

"Would you just put your jacket back on? Neco asked her and after releasing a sigh and realising she wasn't going to win this argument, Emily put her jacket back on and followed the Liverpool player outside.
